Silly son of a ! That is one hell of a clock bump, 350mhz above the ultra stock clock - 400 over the stock 8800gtx, thats one helluva bump. Id hazzard a guess at that not being on the stock cooler
.
To be completely honest I cant see what most of you are crying about with the ultra release, sure its only a clock bump so in effect so is moving from say an e6600 to an e6700 - sure one could argue that fsb limits can limit one but they are essentially the same with a clock bump, this is after all an overclockers forum, I dont see many people crying about higher clocked stupidly expensive proccessors. If those clocks are attainable with some decent cooling for that price and yet you still cry about how different it may be to the standard gtx then this clearly isnt the forum for you. Its about OVERCLOCKING, and I'd like to think that if a new piece of hardware comes out that is even more overclockable than the original then its a plus, even if it does cost more. Its essentially an extreme edition processor with an unlocked multiplier - figuratively. I for one wont be buying one as Im waiting for both red and green to get their arses into 65nm before I upgrade. But still give them a break.
