The offical 9600GT thread.

The card got delayed, if anyone knows the official release date please post and I'll add it.

The card is meant to replace the 8600GT as part of the GeForce 9xxx lineup and is based off of the old 8 series tech.

Specs:

GPU Clock: 650MHz
Memory Clock: 1800MHz
Shader Clocks: 1625MHz
Memory Bus: 256Bits
Shader Pipelines: 64

So, it performs really, really closely to a GeForce 8800 GT despite having just over half the amount of shader processors and is clocked only slightly higher? I think there must've been a fair few architectural tweaks to accomplish that. Not so 'regurgitated 8 series' any more then, hm?
 
M8 of mine who runs a component store says he'll have em in stock tommorow.
 
Well taking they only have 64 shaders yet they are knocking on the door of 8800GT's with 112 nVidia must have done something to boost the 9 series over the 8's...
 
there seems to be some talk over on nzone forums of possibly a 9600gt AGP variant......
only time will tell.
im waiting on the pricing to be announced on these cards now.
 
Least we know one thing thats guaranteed, Nvidia are finally gona update their site tomorrow which they aint done since last year, and add some new drivers. :D
