I'm somewhat leery of using an .exe so I've grabbed the maps here:

I'll install them on the OcUK group servers but they won't become part of the regular rotation. As such, you'll have to callvote to get to them (assuming that works okay).

edit: Looking at the readme files on that site I'm not sure it *will* work okay. In which case, I'll turn one of the co-op servers into custom Vs server I guess.

Well the l4d servers are hardly amazing are they?..lol.

I've been playing other online games and i have no lag at all.

My L4D connection is always ok, but last night i got never ending lag and a low ping.

Hopefully it will be ok today.
 
I normally have a good ping, but last night I was really bad, was playing with the Magic1an and we both suffered :(

I've been on the OcUK servers once or twice and not had many problems that I can remember.

Strange, I never had the issue.

Theres two ways to sort the issue by the way...

One is how you said, via disabling multicore rendering.

The other is by making the game run in 'borderless windowed mode'...That seems to work fine as well.

Thanks for pointing it out though gord, and Aekeron for the other fix obviously ;)
 
Okay, I've installed the custom Vs maps (The other two campaigns missing from Left4Dead originally).

Currently you can't callvote them so they will *only* load on the new fragM Vs_Custom which has now replaced one of the co-op servers.

Remember, you'll need to download the maps from here:

More than likely 'exploits' in the maps, as infected wont be able to reach servers at certain points no doubt......So everyone would cry.

No idea what they are going to change though map wise.

I say release them, and let people test them properly. (officially I mean)
