You need to include VAT on that price as well. Plus with the $ rate at its current $1.57/£ you are talking £33.50 to buy it from Steam.
I've jut pre-ordered it for £25, i'll wait a couple of days and save £8.50 thanks.

I bought it on Steam, saw the exchange rate then got Valve to refund me. Gonna buy it retail instead.I should have done it this way, instead of ponying up the cash as soon as it was on Steam

The dollar has gained a lot of strength. Think 1.6USD to the pound rather than 2.0USD.

Its a whole new game FFS, its just based on the source engine (The latest shiny one may i add)

I agree with you - it's definitely more than a mod. I guess I'm just a cheapskate and paying £33 for it just feels a bit much.
That said, it's only the recent videos that have made it look good to me, so perhaps I'm just not as into it as some people.

All I did was put $45 into a currency convertor and it came out with 28.9990 and I put it in bold, sorry if that offended you

Anyhow, let's bury the hatchet and not clutter the thread with pointless arguing over £4 of price difference.
When you install it from the physical media, you'll need to link it to your Steam account anyway, so you'll still get all the benefits Steam provides

That said, I probably imagined it as I paid through the nose for BioShock over steam :/
