***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Just finished play 'No Mercy' and on the last map our score never doubled with the x2 multiplyer, we got 1200 points But all 4 of us made it into the helicopter. This happended to anybody before? The scores finished around 4500 to 5500 roughly.

As far as I am concerned we won that game :D

Well it was very close but we were about 200 points in the lead going into the final round. They had a bit more energy than us at the end of the last round but I am certain we would have edge it. But for some reason we only got 1200 points.

Could you tell me how you access the colour ping bar in game?

I used net_stat 1 in the deveopler console which gives an overlay bottom left with FPS, data up/down etc and ping.

Well, if you hold the score key it shows coloured bars by your name. But you can also type ping in the console to get the ms.

But just tried it and my pings were fine, so I will keep an eye on the situation. My entire net is feeling a lot more responsive today so I think my service provider might have changed my DNS. I will see how it goes, thanks for your response though.
 
I'd love to play more l4d, bought it when the half price deal was on but I've not had much joy in actually playing because of isp problems. Was enjoying it, got kicked a few times i guess cause i was noob lol

im beginning to think matches shouldnt be randomned now, we all had mics and your team didnt, plus you had a couple of newer gamers i think?
 
What I normally do is use the in game randomiser to choose the teams and play the first map as both sides. If there is a noticable difference and it's either too boring or too hard then we usually try and mix it up to make the rest of the game as fair as possible.

You gotta know the people you are with though!

There are a couple of us that actually love playing with new folk, you guys bring back that nervous energy and curiosity that has faded in our game :)

As long as you arent scumbags, you're willing to work together and are ready to step up to expert (even if it kills us repeatably, which is part of the fun), then you will find a good number of us in the community that will die along side you :)

Just rebooted the server as someone reported dodgy behaviour on them.

I think something I've installed aside is playing up as memory usage was sitting at 45%...of 4GB.. on a non-graphical server with just a few things running. Odd.

yup one of the fragm servers was laggin badly yesterday my pings were jumping from 50 to 1300 :o
