***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Great fun game tonight with Lagmeister and Touchstone, once we managed to get on a server. Annoyingly the game wouldn't allow us to connect to an ocuk server for some reason :( Still, we made it a public game in the end and for a game with randoms it was awesome fun, the finale had lag moved onto our team and then one of us made it to chopper and they were screwed before touching the button, good times :)

Edit: Something I noticed though - I was chasing a survivor (whose health was red) for ages and couldn't catch him.

What's the deal with that? I wasn't even on fire.

lol I think you should just give up as tank.

I had a brilliant game last night. My mate was just about to jump down into the cornfield and....grab lol

I am on tonight if anyone is up for a game.

Loving the new tank as I have not failed once yet with him.
 
My copy is downloading as we speak. :D


Is it a CPu, or GPU based game, or a mixture of both?
I have a ATI 4870 1gb arriving tomorrow, what sort of framerates and visual sexiness can I expect. Does it also depend on the other PC specs.

Er, Full I would hope.

My old 8800GTS could cope with it at 1680x1050 :p

What cpu? I have an X2 4400 running it...So presumably yours is higher.
 
Will be that exact one actually in the future :D

However for the time being, it will be a single core AMD 3500+. :(

OK....Well, might lag slightly in certain parts I'm guessing....Due to loads of horde being on the screen at once? I'm not entirely sure to be honest.

There aren't that many physics objects in the game either....just a few bits here and there.

Hopefully the card can take some strain off thing's :)
 
you should be ok, its source engine afterall if you can run Episode 2 fine then L4d will be a little more strain but not by much.

Your biggest issue as others have said will be when the hordes are on screen as you can have a screen full of rage infested zombies kicking your face into the kerb :)

My 4870 was maxing it out with an E6600
