***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Right guys OcUK 3 has just had the new version of promod (version 1.2) installed, which fixes some of the exploits of the four main campaigns and improves the game for the infected. My favourite fix is how the runway has been fixed. Visit http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=907695 for more information on what this mod does. A side effect is that OcUK3 does take longer to load each map. So if your computer pauses on a black screen for a bit, don't panic, it will come back. I am aware that some players tried it yesterday, this version has been updated with a much better one so the barn on BH4 for example is no longer blocked off. This version also removes some of the invisible walls so I think that the longer load up time is well worth it. I will be testing out this mod properly tonight so if your invited, beware that you are once again, one of my guinea pigs ;)

Note also that I have removed the weapon spawn changes from the Promod. All that is included are the map changes.

Aekeron and I will be trying to find a way to allow players (well, admins) to enable/disable the mod on all the ocuk servers at will, so watch this space.

Don't know which server we were playing on last night, but basically on DT the streets are all caged off so the survivors have to walk miles to get to where they normally get to.

Not too bad in terms of lengthening the map (although I think it spoils it aesthetically!) however, the witch goes mental and cannot find a way through now so the witch is a complete non-threat. You just shoot her, watch her spaz out behind the fence while shooting her in the head - job done.

You would have been on ocuk3. That would have been the older version of the same mod. The fencing has been removed and the changes made more aesthetically pleasing. Also invisible walls have now been removed on some of the maps (DT4 for example). I'm happy to try out any of the campaigns tonight, but the Dead Air finale looks pretty well done. Screenshots of the changes can be seen in that thread I linked to in my last post.
 
ok and the verdict is in, the new config in altering the levels is a game saver.

No more fustrating moments, no more stupid inaccesable roofs, no more shiva stacking

Just good honest fun :D
 
Yeah enjoyed the games last night. Soz I had to leave early I ended up pretty drunk and I had an early start (still got into work late though....)

Ended up playing Survivor all night but a good laugh.

On side note, does anyone know how to shove a Boomer for an Achievement?
 
Simple. Run up to him as quickly as possible and melee him. Step back as far as you can and shoot him before he spews on anyone. Job done :D

I may well be on tonight, but I had probably better start packing for my holiday (which I go to on Saturday :D). Will definately be playing tomorrow night (ie Friday) but that'll be last last 8v8 for a week or so most likely, that I can set going anyway. Aekeron, bledd, knubje can all start one however as can the other admins using sm_execcfg superversus.cfg in the console. Make sure you are on ocuk4 though before you do this :p

was good fun last night, fire seemed to be on quad damage :D

i think even bill's cigarette was chipping away at his health quicker than normal
 
I like the 8v8 expert fire damage though, gives lots of lols. Tbh though you would have thought people would have learned by now :D

EDIT: Just realized (DUH!) if you want to join the ocuk servers now, make sure you set the server type to best available, as they are nolonger official (server map mods).

Also there is now an OcUK 5 server running. It is public however and currently has the search key (ocuklink) disabled. 217.163.22.186:27015 It is not with INX and is cheaper, so will most likely be the one that gets renewed when necessary, depending on how much lag you get in it. It has the same mods installed (once it is restarted, pubs on it atm, grrr) and will be the same configuration as OcUK 3, but until fully tested will use the different search key or won't have one at all. Tbh, reading conversations on pub games is so much funnier than ocuk ones :D

P.s. If it turns out to work better, just to be annoying I'll probably swap ocuk 3 and ocuk 5 round :p That way the better servers are all the lower numbers and the weaker one is the highest.
