Buy it. You and your brother will enjoy coop and you can join the ocuk crowd. Also prepares you for L4D2 so you can get some practice in...

Got L4D GOTYE at lunchtime.

First impressions are I'm well disappointed there's no manual in the box as I wanted to read stuff about it while on the bog at work.

I'll be firing it up after the footy highlights tonight if any of you peeps will be about. Can't be any scarier than Scotland playing Holland.

There's a CSS game on the OcUK servers at 8ish so maybe a 4v4 or 8v8 can be scheduled at about 10.30/11?

Valve insisting that it is Microsoft’s fault

It just seems that the drama surrounding Left 4 Dead continues to grow. If it isn’t people complaining about the quick release of the Left 4 Dead sequel or the fact that Valve is letting users down by not releasing promised content for the first Left 4 Dead, it seems now it is the fact that the promised content that they were complaining about is going to cost money.

Yes, that is right; the Crash Course expansion pack will arrive in September for both the Xbox 360 and the PC. The Crash Course expansion pack will feature new content that will bridge the gap between the “No Mercy” and “Death Toll” levels. It will offer single player, multiplayer, and co-op game modes.

The problem is that if you happen to want it for the Xbox 360, it is going to cost you 560 Microsoft points; but if you happen to be a PC user you will get Crash Course for free. Valve is telling everyone that will listen that they have always had a policy of basically much not charging for additional content; but this time around they have no choice, as they have been handcuffed by Microsoft.

According to sources, Valve claims that a lot of the problem is that they own the Steam platform and they can do what they like, which Microsoft owns the Xbox 360 platform; and while they did help Valve get the first expansion out for free, this time around they had little choice but to charge for it. It isn’t as if Valve needs the money and they are being handcuffed by the system at Microsoft, and there is really nothing that they can do about it.

While it is good, we guess that Valve is letting people know that it was not their first choice to have to charge for the Crash Course expansion pack, especially when they are going to give it away on Steam for PC users. The problem is that this isn’t going to change the fact that players with the Xbox 360 version are going to be charged for it, and that is the bottom line from where we sit.

Played some of this last night and added a few of you guys on steam but I'll probably get right into it at the weekend.

Do most of the peeps on here use heasets cause it was a bit annoying that not all of the team on the campaigns were using voice comms and just running off doing their own thing?

Most use a mic of some sort and some players that don't (ie Dingleberry and Icey_haj) tend to be quite aware anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

I will be interested in playing this update if it's released today then :)
 
I realise it's a little late but your best bet is to start your own lobby if you fancy a game otherwise you could be waiting all night.

Commands you will need:

ms_force_dedicated_server xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:xxxxx (all the xs represent the ip of the server, these can be found in the stickied ************----------------OCUK Community Server List----------------************

Or

sv_search_key x (Search key for the OcUK servers is simply ocuk)

Both these commands can be entered in the console (accessed by pressing the key to the left of the number 1 [it also has to be initially enabled in the game options])

Once entered then simply press start and away you go
 
There were some good games last night guys. The 4v4 was very close and I don't think there was 1 level that we didn't all survive, albeit only just in most cases. The 8v8s were gd fun as well. Cheers all :D
