Unfortunately you do get some like that. I've had a share of both awesome groups and then the next PUG I get griefers who like to blow up canisters when your standing next to them, or just plain idiots that think its acceptable to call names and take digs for little or no reason..

The joys of the internet I guess.. its not just this game ;)

Although I've not yet had an all OcUK game, I've met a few of the forum guys in game and its all in all a better experience 100% having people you "know" around
 
I been playin all day just to get a feel for things, two thumbs up for me loving this. almost 10 hours today so steam says (probably 6hours ish playtime though)

Wanna play on the ocuk servers but i dont think im ready for Vs seein as im a right noob so rather want to run through the campaigns.

Well after having a few VS games I'm really liking it! It'll be even better once it's all promodded up. :)

It's faaaaar longer the the "20 minute game" it was supposed to be though. :D

It's a whole different game when you play with OcUKers, don't let publics put you off. :)
 
I saw some command to find ocuk games but I dont think I was doing it right. Is there server addresses I can add to my favourites?

Once you join the OcUK Steam group you'll be able to see Link's/Aekeron's/Defrag's/Others OcUK servers to the right of the friends list on the main L4D screen. You need to be patient though as it takes a few seconds longer to load up.

When in a lobby and you are the lobby leader you can press the "`" key (key to the left of 1) to open the console and type "sv_search_key ocuk" (without ") then when you start a game it will search for an ocuk server. There is a way to force which server is used but it's changed since the update and I'm not sure of the command. However, Link has posted it further up/back.

Also, does this mean I can spam you now? :p

The new update killed the ms_force_dedicated_server command, however it brought in a new one: mm_dedicated_force_servers 217.163.22.186:27015,85.234.148.8:27165,85.234.148.240:27145,217.168.150.203:27016 will add ocuk3,4,5 and ocuk1 for example to a list (don't know if there shud be a space after the comma, server=no normally so I think this will be the same).

This new command allows you to specify a list of optional servers, so if your first choice is full, it will take you to your second choice etc... Good idea imo, especially if you use multiple servers. I have aded the line above to my autoexec.cfg file. Once I know that ocuk2,7+8 are working I'll add those too.

PLEASE DO NOT ATTEMPT TO ADD OCUK6, otherwise you may well screw up the 8v8 server. Thanks. :)

i tried the crash course Vs last night first time. I quite liked it but it seemed a little uneven, and the level design seems better as there wasnt a straight forward path (which i liked) maybe because i dontknow the map yet. All in all good free addition hope to play some of you OcUKers on it soon
 
the new patch seems to address the early issues with too much weapon spawns etc.

As for the roofs bein inaccessible thats the way its been from day one with official maps it just needs promods and cevo to work a treat

Item density calculation corrected for Versus games

Fixed weapon density in Crash Course

mp_gamemode now a valid command

New localized audio for Crash Course now available

Fixed achievement issues in Crash Course

Fixed dedicated servers not updating correctly to master server

Increased the timeout to fallback to listen server when searching for a dedicated server to 45 seconds

For new players theres no need to add every name from the names thread, just add some of the main players who start up games and once your in game after its over goto the steam/recent games/players tab and add all the peeps from the ocuk game

People to add who play regularly will all be common names in this thread.

^^OcUK 3, 4, 5 all updated. :)

This should hopefully fix most of the issues I have heard reporting, search key may even be fixed as I'd imagine that's linked to the Master server issue mentioned. Still annoying that going to local server is still automatic though. Not many home internet connections would cope with versus mode.

Anyone here unable to use the TAB key ? The lads i play with and me get crash to desktops all the time so have moved the TAB function to .

Its a pain not being able to check pings and epeen

Any ideas?
 
yeah, its been going on for a while. We thought and hoped that with the release of CC they would fix it along, with the other engine errors that caused CTD's.

I just had my first match and am itching for some OcUK Left 4 Dead matches which I will hope for later on. :D

My Steam account is Naffa as is my OcUK username.

Can't wait for some sweet action later. :cool:
