***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Maybe I'm weird but I quite like the new maps though I have only played through them twice. They are in definite need of promoding however as there seemed to be an awful lot of inaccessible areas that looked like they would provide excellent si positions.

(I'm blaming this on my poor hunter/boomer skills)
 
Right, cevolink should now be running better for Crash Course. Tank chance has been risen from 50% and 40% for the intro and finale levels to 90% and 75% respectively. Medpacks will still probably appear, but that seems to be a built in level thing. cevolink is installed on ocuk3-5.

last nights / yesterdays 2 released server updates (is that 4 now since the initial release) and the subsequent source mod update have (fingers crossed) fixed the game back to normality :). Not one server crash at all yesterday on the {SAS} servers
 
Now I've found some new files to mod I have also lowered the difficulty multipliers for NM4 and BH4 to 1.2 and 1.3 respectively. Also I've found a new way of altering the witch and tank spawning behaviour on Crash Course so I've disabled cevo on it and used the other method (as cevo seems broken on those maps anyway). Changes apply to OcUK 3, 4 and 5. :)

In other news, OcUK 6 currently crashes when people try to connect so one of the plugins used to allow 8v8 has been broken by Valve's latest updates. Unfortunately this means no 8v8 until it's fixed again. :( I shall keep you posted.
 
Just bought this, tried playing single player but it wasn't that fun :(

I guess it's designed for multiplayer, but I wanted to just test run it to check it out.

Looking forward to having a bit of a fest on it tonight.
 
Have OcUK got L4D Servers? If so can someone send me the IP's? Cheers,

Edit, Dont worry i found them =) btw what game modes are on 1, 2 and 3? Versus, Survival or Co op?

Oh the new influx of discount price L4D noobs.....welcome. :)

I'm Defrag and I too was once a noob (keep your mouth shut Kearney!). It unfortunate that people tend to kick players from games if they aren't quite up to their 'standard' on public servers - theres not a damn thing you can do about it except keep trying and you'll eventually get better.

On the other hand, join a ocuk game and as long as you're prepared to take some advice (not orders) then you're pretty much a guaranteed a full game. There tend to be very few rage quitters. Some moaning may take place, but it's all in the spirit of the game. :) :)

ps. Don't join my team, you'll win everytime and think that L4D is a bit too easy on vs mode :p
 
Is there a "official" L4D2 thread? Just I wouldn't mind knowing if I should get a 4 pack and sell the other 3 to forum members for the cheap price.

Edit, oh L4D2 price is up on steam now. 26.99£ at the mo with early access to the demo and an exclusive in-game bat. would have been nice if they offered it at a slgihtly reduced rate if you own L4D...
