***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Does anyone have a ded server setup? Whenever I click to join someone, the ip of the server is blatently wrong like 0.0.0.7. I can try and set one up and give you the correct ip.
 
Gotta be honest, ain't great is it?

I can see myself putting the same amount of time into it as cod4 ~ 20 hours before it gets stale. Their's just somthing crap about AI controlling the enemies, and the same dam objectives each time - it's not dynamic enough.


There again, 20 hours isn't bad considering it's the same cost as deadspace which took me 10 hours to complete (great game though).

Given how easily moddable it already seems to be I imagine that there'll be a ton of content out for it in no time.
 
Is anyone else getting a "Crypt.WIN32 Virus" Warning from Nod32 for the left4dead.exe? Its probably nothing as Nod32 has just updated, but its bloody annoying cause it pops up every 5 minutes. :p

 
i have same problem , cant connect , if i start a dedicated server , does anyone know how i can set the dificulty setting , as the dedicated server wont let me , and how do you enable the server brower again ?

I still can't join a game. Everytime i try to join the loading stops and it says connection failed after 10 attempts. Every damn time. Plus have opened the console and got the server browser open, but it doesn't find games either.

No probs with css or tf2, but this is :/

I think you can't set the default diff in a server just yet. But you can call a vote when in the game which works fine.

It's mishandling IP addresses at the moment. If you check the console log I found it trying to connect to IPs like 0.0.0.5 or local IPs like 192.168.1.etc I think you need to use the console to type "connect 87.194.57.101:27015" for example. That's a server I have up now as a test, but no one seems to be able to join still. Ports all set correctly, I can join it locally, but I don't think that counts ;)
