***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

I may convert two of my servers to the ocuk community - question would be, how likely would they be to be utilised? As open ones they're full about 90% of the time atm.
 
Guys have just got this today for 20 squids; had never heard of it before, cant believe i hadnt! Anyway, as i have not played it before and will be lame compared to a lot of you here, any quick tips or advice to help get me started?? Hopefully i will be upto speed soon!
 
im having problems running this game... everytime i login to steam and try to launch l4d it gives me some missing dll error and the only way to fix this is by going into l4d>properties>local files>verify integrity of game cache, let that run and its fine... now i wouldn't mind if i only had to do this once but not every time i want to play!!! any ideas?
 
Great fun.... for the 30mins or so it works. Getting constant sound-loop lock-ups, either dropping me back to the desktop or forcing a hard-reset. Yay. :(
 
I got a question. Say I play part of the way through a campaign in multiplayer and then have to quit for whatever reason. Is using the server browser and finding the specific map the only way of continuing anywhere near where I left off?

Would be great if they added some sort of filter to search for the game nearest to where you left. I'd really like to play it through in order but I don't always have time to get through a whole campaign.
 
You can start your your own game on any map and chapter and just wait for the lobby to fill up. Using the browser is the only definite way to get to an exact one in progress though.

Having a nightmare finding non-laggy servers :(

My net connection is pants atm but changing ISP on Thursday so hopefully that'll make a difference, but I still get 5+ sec freezes on vent & L4D everyso often...but it only happens with L4D :(

Can't properly enjoy it!

If you search my posts in this thread I posted a fix for the sound-loop crashing issue, although in the full version the problem doesn't occur for me, try it.
