can i just say that I still love every second of this game, all to often we have game threads which are all about peoples initial impressions of games. Then after a few weeks the thread will die when the next greatest thing comes out.

I mean lets look at the facts

- its a 4 player co-op game

- single player is terrible

- very limited weapon choice

- 4 campaigns each with 5 maps, most campaigns can be beaten within 2-3hrs (thats all 5 maps) on expert

- games matchmaking system is awful regularly pickin a server as far away from you as possible.

- there are known bugs and conn problems which at the wrong time can be a complete game killer.

Now those points mentioned above on paper look like your wasting your time by buying this game.

But myself Niel, Lyon, Rob and all the OCUK left for dead faithful who are taking on the zombie hordes know just how fantastic this game is.

Ive played most of the maps to completion and i still never get tired of replaying a level, if you have a group of 4 who ply regularly you should be able to walk most maps, but this is where the AI director comes into its own. Your team of 4 is dominating? well AI director simply ramps up the hordes, mixes boss infected.

Perfect exammple was on friday night, myself, lyon, nieldo and mexicanseafood completed dead air on expert. Last night myself Lyon, willbo and The Edge got completely obliterated by the AI director, each time in the finale when a tank appeared it came with backup in the form of a boomer smoker and hunter.

And for anyone who has played the finale on dead air you knwo that the tanks are the first sign when your carefully planned tactics go out the window and its ruuuuuuunnnnn :)

If valve keep the content updated as they have done with TF2 i see no reason why this thread wont still be going strong this time next year.

Ive already played ona few servers which have a bug showing a vs mode for dead air and death toll so they must be on their way.

Im starting to ramble now as the CIDER is still in effect but i hope my ramblings at least make one new person try L4D because with all the releases this autumn and winter its the one game that has kept farcry2, fallout 3 and im sure GTA4 to the backburner :)
 
I just managed to get akimbo assassin achievment and i must say it wasn't easy. When using any item like medpack or pills, or even picking up gas tanks and throwing them it automaticaly switches back to primary weapon, so it can be easy to make a mistake and press fire before switch back to pistols. Also taking down tanks is a little bit harder but on normal difficulty (which is where i got it, as getting akimbo assassin on adv or expert would be silly) it isn't too much of a issue.

I still havn't managed to get any of the achievments involving expert difficulty, hard to get a decent group that can manage to complete it on expert. I guess i will have to keep trying to be part of some OcUK groups attempting expert levels.

The thing to do is to just not pick up a proper weapon. No problems then :)

I'm also struggling with expert however. Stage 4 and 5 are always whorish :/
 
Pish, doing achieves on anything but expert makes you fail.

I didnt get grim reaper as I had to sacrifice myself to the tank (we lay down fire barrels, and he incapped me next to it. Two other team mates were hiding so I shot the barrel, set him on fire, he died and they survived! I am a hero!)

Unless you get the outbreak thing when your biled on by a boomer, then you walk in to other people or something?
 
i only ever play this at expert.

The outbreak achievement you can do if you get puked on and melee a teammate or pick up one who has fallen etc.

I believe the achievements page should show what difficulty the achievement was gained at as its so easy to walk through levels on pretty much any mode but expert.
