***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

Not played this for a couple weeks now. Been pretty busy, but i've missed it a lot. My pc has suddenly started to run this game like crap. Used to run fine maxxed out, but now it keeps looping the sound and freezing up, even after a fresh install of windows and the full game!!

Have a quick read through the last page. Hadn't played for weeks myself because of this exact reason, I reinstalled the game and got the same deal. Turns out one of the patches a few weeks back borked dual core support. Go into option and disable multi threading.
 
Played Versus with a few of you guys last night, which was good fun, as it's the first time I've done it. Think I need more practice!

Any other server admins using sourcemod?

In my server.cfg I've got:

sm_cvar tongue_allow_voluntary_release 1
sm_cvar tongue_choke_damage_amount 15

To buff the smoker a little.

It sets these on each level load, as the server.cfg is executed, and sourcemod echoes this in the console, but for some reason it doesn't actually make a difference ingame.

If, however, I change these once the game has started from either VNC into server or from in-game console, it makes a difference.

Any idea how I can get it to make a difference in game using the server config?

Hey all

I'm trying to host a game locally but my ip always shows up as my internal router IP address, so nobody can connect.

Any ideas how I can fix this?

Left 4 Dead, can you go online play? By the way, is there a way to download the game from Steam and back it up on a disc so that I can recover it when recovery of my PC occurs? Before the PC can connect to the internet, I can install the game offline...

Anyone has had experience over Games for Windows Live yet? It reminds me of the MSN Gaming rooms many years back. I wonder if they work the same way...

By the way, anyone manages to run the game without much stuttering with an ATi 3000 series card. Mine is a 3850, hope it works! See you folks on line soon.
