Sounds like the same problem. Disable the multicore thing in video settings and see how you fare.

just palyed a few games with Mr. Tortoise, dunno if hes a forum member but we had a fair crack at the co-op.

vs. was empty when i went on.
 
Yup was a good game tonight, although we had to failtanks on last segment of Blood Harvest!
 
I say we all download the other maps and start enjoying the other levels in VS mode. We could be waiting forever for valve to do something. I played for hours with a group of mates and it was awesome. The server needs these maps installed too, so if anyone has their own server, if you could download these, thats would be fantastic. All you have to do is turn down the shaders setting to medium and it works great. If you dont turn the shaders down, the cars are bright white.

Get the file here. http://www.sendspace.com/file/e6elri 71mb. Run the installer, direct it to a new folder, copy/paste the files from the new folder into steam>steamapps>common>left4dead>left4dead>maps . Dont put the config files in there though unless it's for a server only. Further instructions for servers are included.

Ive had some great games with folks off here. I dislike it when the survivors rush to the safehouse without having the time to even fart, pick up extra ammo, medkits, and all arrive in good health without even emptying a gun clip. It makes it almost impossible to attack when they're moving so quickly and before we all know it, were back to the lobby again, whats the point in rushing? Because it works? True, but so does the ramp in the no mercy finale. It works but it's too easy, it's weak, and it's lame.

Another thing. Voice comms. Use them lads. Its loads better full stop. I play regularly with mates with all speak on where we can all hear each other. When you pull someone with a smoker, you hear them cussing/swearing/shouting for help, it makes the game much more enjoyable. We should all use it man. Too much effort keep typing 'help' or whatever, no one takes any notice of it anyway.

Do you need mics for this? Thinking of getting it but Ive only ever played CSS and quake 4 online so not really sure how coops work.

It's not essential, but it makes the game so much more fun :D

Basically, once you get the game, run through the single-player campaign once to familiarise yourself with the game and maps, then go online and start kicking infected butt! Only go back to single-player when supremely bored or wanting to breeze through Akimbo Assassin on Easy :D
 
Fun game with some of you guys through No Mercy. The score was ~5000 ~700 or something so we completely dominated, although the oppo did manage to get a tank into the chopper at the end.

Yeah, shame i had to quit before the end (GF needed to go to sleep :(). Was a good laugh as always, good again to see some players i havent played with, we have some pretty hefty numbers now.

Must be at your end. I played on my servers last night and they were fine :)

The fact that you're getting it on multiple servers tends to point towards the common denominator being your connection/PC.
