where's cheapest place to get this from, without buying it online?.......and someone please say you dont HAVE to have steam to play this?

you have to have steam :) but it's a superb software which you should like... 26 squid from steam is the best price i think i payed 22 :) but that was before release
 
Can't really name competitors but you will be lucky to find it for under £26.

Yes you need Steam to play the game.

Funnily enough the cheapest place to get it was Steam itself during their holiday sale, which you have now missed where it was available for £20.46.

I really struggle to see why people still have a problem with Steam.

It's a great system, and during the recent sale I picked up 3 new games (Psychonauts, Trials 2 and Outrun 2006) for the princely sum of £11.37.
 
when ever i decided to install steam a while back something always went wrong with it! and never liked any of steam/valve games but after looking up left4dead on youtube it looks like a laugh to play

is there a demo out or anything on steam? to have a quick thrash to make sure i like it?

How long ago did you use Steam?

I agree, a god two years ago it was a bit iffy sometimes, but most 'issues' have been ironed out now, I rarely have any problems with it.

Only time I have a 'problem' is when they decide to reboot there servers :p But that never takes too long so hey.
 
I recall first installing Steam when Half Life 2 came out - it was a buggy piece of crap which stopped a lot of people plaing HL2 - I was one of the lucky ones, but my brother and my flatmate were both unable to play for days. Steam and Valve were slammed and rightly so, but they stuck to it. Personally, I now think Steam is great - I'd hate to lose my account though (thought it got stolen about a year ago - I nearly had a heart attack!), as I have about 30 games on there. Plus the weekly specials are often too good to turn down.

Hoping to get some decent playtime in this weekend though, as soon my house will be empty of guests and I'll be able to die laughing, Pookie-berserker style.

you guys gotta join the l4d ocuk steam group then add some peeps from the list, were playin every day.

Just search for OcUK in the steam community tab

There's only quitters on public games really...........Although some people from here rage quit from time to time ;)

There aren't that many exploits to be honest =/ Just advantage things that are classed as exploits.

The only exploit I really reallllllly hate is the damn grenade ones.
 
the main probs with the game are not exploits more areas of maps etc which tip the balance to one side.

For example the ramp on NM finale when a team stacks up under it its basically just the 2 tanks that can do anything all the rest can forget it. But then thats the same with any closet as well on vs.

The games not perfect balance wise but to be fair its not a huge problem yet, theres also a known glitch where someone in spectator mode in vs can make sure the infected team gets 4 hunters which is times right is game over but ive not seen that used in a pub or ocuk vs yet.

Then theres the door on NM3 which can be bashed down but i dont mind that at all as it takes enough time to get an attack in.

Someone mentioned in the vs last night that it would be nice if in vs an infected team that is in a 3vs4 situation should have a shorter respawn time which sounds like a good idea to me. If one survivor drops out a bot replaces them yet you can have a 4v2 or 4v3 situation as infected wont get bots so a quicker respawn in those situations would be a good idea for valve.

Ill be on today no doubt if ya see me on steam hook me up :)
 
Hm, when I've joined the custom versus server in the Steam group, the respawn times are a hell of a lot shorter when your by yourself......So I don't know if that's the case anyway? Unless its the way the server is just setup =/

What is your Steam id again Sharpy? Don't think I have you on there.
