***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

I've started using 185.20 I had ambient occlusion on high and it made the game chug along at about 10fps :( Theres not much of a noticeable difference in quality with it on though.

Wait.. you want everyone to have a list of hints and tips, yet you dont want to hear anyone trying to give out hints and tips?

The end of Blood Harvest is easy to win as survivors and it does involve everyone having auto shotties and sitting in the corners.. until the tanks arrive.
In my opinion it's neither a hint nor a tip - it's a totally boring way to finish Blood Harvest - it even makes tank attacks trivial in many instances. It's easy, yes, but not fun in the least - where's the panic, the chaos, the constant threat, the screaming and barely making it to the APC? If I wanted easy, I'd play single-player and co-op campaign on Easy or Normal. There's no challenge - it's not as bad as sitting under the ramp on No Mercy, but it's similar.

I don't really want to generalise, but I'll make an exception here - I find this kind of boring "win at all costs" mentality more common amongst OCUK players than friends I've added just playing the game normally - it's all about the score! By the same token, there's also lots of OcUK'ers who just want to have a laugh (they know who they are :D) - so I'll not be giving up OcUK games (until I get bored of L4D!).

Whats the best way to get decent games of this? Had a few games of it this afternoon but seemed a big laggy and people keep quiting and such like.

play with friends. That's the only way I've actually ever played this game, never played a game with randoms yet....

Add the OcUK L4D Steam Group and open it up to see all the members and start adding people to friends :)

What Turtles said, and don't be afraid of just joining one of the OCUK servers when its empty. People will join pretty quickly if you're in there after work in the evening.

Had a good game on no mercy today apart from when someone decided to go up the lift (the sewers) instead of the other way. Why do people still go that way? it makes all the zombies come charging after u:p

Bought this game thru the (wicked) Steam sale for just over £20 and its brilliant!!!

Even though its not the best looking or even the most challenging, its the most fun I have had in ages :)
