Play the single player through a couple of times just to get used to the map / how to play. Then you should be ok to dive in to Vs.
 
So gutted, my L4D was delivered today but i was at work. On the royal mail delivery slip it says leave 72 hours before pickup :(

So lame, i was wanting to session it all weekend.

Ignore that. Most of the time it's at the office to pick up later that day.
 
You don't have to leave 72hrs. Go tomorrow morning with the slip and some ID and BAM you'll be given it.
 
I would, but its a bit of a trek. Dont want to go and return empty handed lol.

I could get it through steam tomor, ill see what happens. Not got steam installed yet anyhow.
 
Biggest tip I can give you pieplough is don't join my team please :D

On a serious note. Stick with your team mates, let them know your new and always buy a defuser for the bomb.

Yep, easy as that. Just a few simple games of COOP on EASY should MORE THAN prepare you for VS mode.

P.S - On a serious note, it won't at all. All it will do is you know roughly where you are heading and very basic game mechanics. It won't stop you from getting your ass served to you and your team :) The only way to stop that is keep up the VS and learn it and become good as quick as you can. Listen to what people tell you probably good advice and try and stay close and watch how others play/react.
 
A mic is very essential!

Get one from Holepunchers for a tenner, mine is a Labtec one and works awesome.

I never played a single campaign I jumped straight into Vs and it never stopped me from being an elite L4D player, being a Games Masters comes naturally.

It was hilarious, new players are great cuz they add some mix to us guys knowing the maps inside out.
