***OFFICAL*** Left 4 Dead Thread!

I must admit, I got the game on Friday. I played 1 player... Got bored really quick and stopped playing after I couldn't find any OcUK guys (name list thing sucked -.-)

Then Sat, I joined some random games and kept getting kicked and got really frustrated...

Then last night I played with 2 guild members and had a blast. The game is simply assume. I can't wait to jump on the server with you lot!
 
ill be there at 8 for death aboard too :D

btw how many ocuk servers are there? maybe they all need to be made ocuk only with deathaboard VS on each one from 8 :p
 
Pub games where survivors strategy is to just run to the end suck so much, how often does that work where more than two of you reach the safe zone and not be dead? Irritates me sometimes when i'm infected as it means short rounds, and i like infected more than survivor :P

Just add the steam account name. Mine is mattf121 (old forum name) for example. Use that and look up my friends list. Simple as :)

As good as it is, I really cba with Death Aboard tonight, though I'm sure others will. Played 2 games in a row on it and I don't want to become bored of it.

In answer to your question there are currently 4 standard ocuk servers and one modded one for 16 players (I played on a different 16 man server today, nowhere near as fun as the ocuk one). Two of the ocuk servers are currently loaded with Death Aboard (ocuk3 and 5) so two games on that map CAN be on at once.

As announced. 8v8 late on Thursday night (I have Friday off), bring beer and prepare for hilarities...

New server also running. The old OcUK4 is now OcUK6 and the new OcUK4 is now a public server (lots of laughs). Enjoy. IP = 85.234.148.8:27165 and although there is no search key the ms_force command will work, providing that it is empty.

1 survival map needed for 16/16 bronze...Does anyone know how to accumulate for than 4 minutes survival on "the crane"? Map is very small and is causing me a headache..

have someone stand on the metal vent to block the tank from spawning anywhere but the room with the window. rotate who goes on top for ammo runs. stay away from the right side as smokers drag you off the edge of building. as soon as tank nears switch to shotty (but he normally will get stuck on the window)

if you fancy doing a run of that, let me know

You're at a major disadvantage being new to the game this far down the road. It's not like CS where your team is big enough to hide the fact that you're learning. If one person plays badly, all the team notice it because it impacts on them just as much.

What does it mean for you? In public games you'll get kicked lots and lots. In OcUK games you'll be absolutely fine - I'd always tell the team you're new though... people will tell you what to do and when to do it, and won't be too concerned if you mess it up :)

Nobody likes being told what to do and when to do it, but you definitely need it for the first couple of weeks just to get to grips with the game dynamics. There's nowt worse than telling someone with boomer they need to spawn as close as possible to the survivors, just to have them spawn half a mile away and admire the wall textures!
 
Haha, nice one Hellsmk2, I am getting used to it. Thanks for the tip about the boomer! I seem to do alright with the smoker hanging back and picking of the last target and stuff :D

My brother also plays so if anyone invites me or anything and I ignore it will more than likely be my older brother :D
 
I think my isp is having some dns issues as I can't get to l4dmods.com
Everyone else get to that site without problems?
All the other sites have v5.1 so can't play deathabroad at the moment. :(
Damit is nice though.
