Repta, give us some details (apologies if you've already done so in a previous page - just give us an update)

a) What are your system specs? CPU/MOBO/RAM
b) O/S?
c) Overclocked?
d) Network card/driver versions?
e) Verify Game Cache?
f) Delete game and re-install?

Have you tried copying the maps from someone who you know works fine with the game, e.g. eliminate the possibility that it IS actually the maps and not your system?

Does this happen when you join a fresh game or when you've joined and the server changes map? Is it always the same map/level?

Any virus scanners? Firewalls? Tried disabling them temporarily?

What broadband are you with? What modem you got? Wireless/Wired?

A) Asus p5k, e6400, geil pc 6400, Geforce6400
B)windows Xp
C)Not overclocked currently
D)No netowrk card, running latest Nvidia drivers
E)I have verifyed game cache
F) Yea i have deleted game and reinstalled

It only happens when the server changes map, it isnt never the same map and always seems to happen randomly. Sometimes I can play a map other times it wont let me.

AVG free, havent tried disabling i will give it a go

With BT broadband, using the crappy homehub that came with it. Wireless connection.

I was able to play fine last night on bloodharvest yet early in the day i couldnt play the second map.

Havent tried getting maps of anyone else as none of my friends play L4D

One idea Repta, have you deleted the game files from windows explorer or through steam? Steam doesn't always successfully remove the files. Exit steam, go to the left4dead folder and delete the folder maps from there. Then restart steam and let it redownload the missing left4dead files.

May not work, but worth a try. :)
 
Repta, I can upload maps on a per level basis for you to try if you want. As my web space is limited I can do one level at a time.

I know 100% these maps work fine and i've had no trouble with them at all.

Some good games this evening guys. Good fun, apart from the rage quits in the 2nd one...

OcUK have a 5th server? Join'd a game last night with OcUk on the motd, guess'd itsone from here?

If so, any chance on a mod list and the server cfg? The amount of tanks and witch's was great fun :D.

I'd sugest uploading them to Ms's skydrive (all you need is a livemail/live login) has a stupid amount of GB space for free.
 
tbh i cant wait, every friday sometimes miss a few a group of 8 of us would play l4d versus, soooo much fun. remember one time my m8 was a tank coming around the corner of the beginning of dead air and smashed 3 of them off the building in 1 shot, was so funny i couldnt stop. hopefully l4d2 will keep me going!
