For me its just something to work toward and a sense of achievement when you do it. Like the licence tests in GT3 etc.

It would be great if there was a reward as well though.

Yea looks like all my probelms were from unstable RAM, played a few games no withour crashing. Now just to get my computer to uni in one piece and buy a graphics card that can run L4D over 15fps....

The hardest one is the 'nothing special' achievement, best map to do it is blood harvest on easy. Took me many attempts, but then i found some randoms who were pretty decent and after a few goes we managed it. Pretty easy up until the finale. You have to stick together and if you get pounced melle the hunter away before it can do damage.

The finale is the hard part, as the tank spawns pretty far away from where you are and a single stray rock ruins everything, as we found out lol.

There is a video on youtube of a guy doing the achievement with 3 bots :eek:.

After that the hardest for me was getting all 4 expert modes.

I still need the "What are you trying to prove?" campaign (as well as a few others) because although the thing recorded the fact I had completed Dead Air last night, it forgot that I had done Death Toll! Stupid steam...:(

I need to complete DT on expert now...bledd? :D
 
safety first was easy, i did with 3 x bots. I played no mercy on easy and let the bots do the work, no matter how tempted i was to mow down a few zombies!!!

depends which achivements you mean.

people will gladly help you get survival/comnpleting campaign achivements but if you're lookingfor somone to help basically cheat on the "big drag" style ones you won't find people very helpfull.

Yeah, never play with bots - always with randoms or folks from here, possibly explains why i've never got them. Plus, I don't like just sticking it on easy to get the achievements - I prefer a real challenge! :)

A challenge would be to get safety first or nothing special on expert. It's a shame that valve didn't add "golden acheivements" ie golden versions of the standard acheivements which you got if you got an acheivement on expert mode only. It would seriously split the men from the boys (or women from the girls ;)).
