Server Notice

Just as a word of warning I have requested to cancel OcUK 4+5 at the end of their billing cycle. Both will be switched to L4D2 upon release anyway, but they will become unavaliable completely in December (OcUK 5) and January (OcUK 4), however chances are that more servers may have popped up by then.

OcUK 3 will still be left running to start with at least. OcUK 1+2 will most likely be dropped from the current IP address in favour of L4D2 servers, but may be available at another IP. Due to the recent lack of interest in 8v8, OcUK6 will also be dropped most likely at the same time OcUK1+2 are moved.

This is an advanced warning, the servers will continue as they are for now, at least until L4D2 is released.

8v8 is lame as hell. You admins kept on no clipping out of the smokers drag. I had dragged one of the admins and no one helped him, he was dead until he noclipped out of it.

Why have a warning message pop up every 10 seconds about banning cheaters when admins cheat? lol.

No admins can noclip except me, Defrag and Frenchtart.

I noclipped once, as I got stuck at the bottom of the no mercy ladder and couldn't move (not smokered), so i noclipped myself to where the rest of the team was and toggled off the noclip. I would have unclipped anyone else stuck in the same position, and being a makeshift fix for a game bug is that unfair?

As far as admins noclipping out of danger goes, no idea. Didn't see any appearing on the screen, but maybe i missed it. If you know who it was let me know and I'll slay them in future. ;)

Are you even sure they noclipped? Maybe the game just bugged out?
 
It was Frenchtart. On NM FINALE at the ladder part, I dragged frenchtart and then he noclipped out of it as no one came back to save him.

Also, all talk was on and I heard you guys talking about cheating. lol.

Er..nope. I didn't turn no clip on at all during that game.

Why would I bother cheating in a game as unserious as left4dead?

If I'd been in that sort of mood I would've just summoned ten tanks and left you to it.

There is a small chance that i was smokered and the game bugged out. I was stuck in the floor and couldn't move by my screen, AND a hunter had just jumped on me and subsequently died so I didn't think it was likely I was smokered aswell.

Basicly it's most likely to be a game bug, that has caused a misunderstanding. I assure you if I had seen I was smokered (if that was the case) I would not have used the unclip command.

8v8 is not a bug-free experience - it's meant to be a fun game rather than a serious match (which could be said for pretty much all of L4D).

If there was a misunderstanding and someone noclipped (I didn't during the entire game, I'll repeat again) then they would've only done it if they thought there was a bug somewhere. It can be quite confusing as an admin as you need to keep track of everyone + listen out for anyone having problems.
 
It's possible that we'll password this in future if it starts to get hammered. If so, you'll all be given the password through here or the steam community page.
