Offical PSP2 (or rather NGP) Thread

Looks very nice and impressive to see uncharted 1 is reported to be running on the system.. If its flash drive media then load times should be good...

System is also backwards compatible with PSP current software.

How does this work? Does the game have to be on the new media device or downloaded like the PSPGO?

All my existing PSP games are on UMD..

Anyhow, it looks impressive. A lot better looking then then 3DS and I do like how they've now finally added proper analogue sticks and not that stupid nub thingy the PSP had - that wasn't a good idea for the current PSP..!!

I don't think UMD will work, it doesn't even work on the PSP GO.

I think it means that if you downloaded a game off the PSN it will also work on the NGP if downloaded onto a memory stick.

Uncharted running on the NGP (low quality though)

yeah UMD is out I'm afraid, just like with the PSP Go, my guess is if you have purchased any PSP games digitally then you should be able to login with your PSN acc and re-download them again onto the NGP from the store.

Thought as much, maybe sell my PSP with all UMD games to fund the purchase of a PSP2 or NGP or whatever it'll be called as I do want this...

Biggest deal for me, (apart from a new Hot Shots :D), is the dual analogue sticks, that is a massive deal and a real game changer for 'core games', it essentially makes this the only portable games system that you can play FPS games on properly, that alone is a big plus, I know people tire sometimes of the fps genre but lets face it, it's a very popular genre and it isn't going anywhere soon, also dual sticks will help a hell of a lot for third person games too, or even 3D game like Katamari.

+1 I agree. Its a big thing, dual analogue sticks is just what this needed and proper analogue sticks is a big + for me and the reason I want one...

You're right, FPS is too big a genre and portable COD etc will be a big thing for many... I still can't believe its running uncharted 1. I can't wait to see what WipeOut etc looks like on this.. I played Wipeout on the PSP for hours.

Yep, dual analogue sticks all the way!

Why is everyone complaining about the potential £350 price? Compared to 3G devices like the iPhone 4/5 (£600+?) XOOM tablet ($800) it's bloody cheap ;) With that hardware they could easily charge £800 :p

Don't say £800 they may hear you!! Too late......:p

I really want to see a decent video of some games on it.

Sexy device, sony FINALLY looks like it has the analogue sticks in the right place but the battery time it going to be worse than the 3DS :(

And calling it NGP really ?!?
