Office Chair vs. Gaming Chair

Somehow I doubt that is the chairs fault if buying a decent chair, I'm not saying to buy a basic £100 chair, there are plenty of better and more comfortable options in the range of £200 -300

pay a premium to adjust and set once or just find an actual good comfy chair with decent lumbar support?

I've dipped in and out of this thread so not sure if it's been said but there's a good reason 'offices' buy these expensive office chairs which is they are ergonomically designed for sitting in for long periods of time.

The last thing any business wants is to have a chair cause issues for staff, it's a HR nightmare. Therefore they'll buy chairs with an ergonomic seal of approval.

There's nothing wrong with home use chairs. I've had a really good natural leather one from a catalog store decades ago that lasted well and was comfortable, as well as a pretty good chair from a shop that sells staples (but the PU leather went on it). I now have a Humanscale Freedom chair (£1000+)....is it 4 times the chair of others at a quarter it's price...not sure...but I've never had a sore butt, tight back, or stiffness like I've seen in other 'cheaper' chairs.

hmmmm, The normal chairs that don't cost the same as your first car when you were 17.
The chairs from Staples, Bestbuy (I linked to it somewhere in another thread)
If you are after a mesh chair there are plenty of affordable options which all look 10x better than these designer chairs.
I'm not sure that you really understand what you are talking about with this topic. The "designer chairs" you seem to be referring to with this strange terminology are known as the best ergonomic chairs. Price of a chair is not important, it is how ergonomic and adjustable it is, combined wioth durability and build quality. Thee cheap chinese chairs you find in Staples and on Amazon are generally of poor quality in all regards whereas the more expensive ones often have a lot of money pumped into their design to make them as ergonomic as possible.

I don't understand? it's a bloddy £1000 chair you are talking about, how much sense do you need knocked into you before you get that paying £1000 to sit on your bum is a bit much? :p

Yeah the guys coming on saying they are getting the great 2nd hand deals on said chairs? ffs it's just a chair (American psycho)

I'll stick with my Staples whatever name it had chair thank you

Spending 8+ hours in a chair everyday is worth £1000 if you can afford it and value your back.

Buy cheap, buy twice and a cheap "ergonomic" chairs are just a gaming chair in a different dress.

Yes, you don't seem to understand. To people who spend hours in a chair every day and don't want health problem then it's worth buying a very good chair. Good health is worth far more money than people in their ignorance are usually willing to pay. A good ergonomic chair needs to be bought once every decade or even less depending on how high quality it is.

However, if you buy a chair used you rarely ever have to pay anything approaching full price, usually half or less, so it's a bit of a moot point. You can get most of the big brands in very good condition for £200-£500 on the used market and do not need to spend anywhere near £1000.

the unemployed spend hours a day sat there huh? An over priced office chair is good for and designed for one thing...The office
At home we all have different habits and these chairs just don't work or fit into that model that you all keep pushing, we want to slouch and lean and slob in our chairs while watching the latest woke tv show or what have you ;)

Sorry man but you're highly uninformed on this particular topic and there is nothing to be gained by discussing it with you any further. Just sit on whatever chair you are happy with. :)

Kinnarps seem to be ok and there is an outlet at langley SL3 which is not too far.
current gaming chair was from office world, went thru 20 chairs to find it

gaming chairs for £500 ? unlikely to buy

Do not buy the cheapest 50 quid ones from the rainforest whatever you do haha

Game chairs are usually better quality imo but they just look so.... Cheap and like gamey. Lol like making gpus look like racecars, I hate it personally. I'd love something sleek like an all black corsair chair if anyone can point in right direction.

I absolutely despise the 'gaming' brand that's been created. There must be a market (a sizeable one too) but It's certainly not for me
