Exactly - Russell had the inside line, with his nose ahead into the corner.
The damage occurred because Max didn’t want to give up the place.
Max always runs cars off the track when in the same position.

Why are they so god damn slow to make decisions in this sport now? The pinnacle of motorsport, but every race it just seems like sheer incompetence.
Crap all over the track and a tyre left on the road for laps. Virtual safety car deployed and nothing done under it, until they decide to throw a real safety car later on.

No idea, used to think Charlie Whiting was slow making calls but he was positively rapid compared to the current administration!

I was watching the driver feed when Checo breezed past Charles and you could hear the engine speed go up as the DRS popped open, it was really noticeable.

Think the biggest problem with spint races is that it kinda kills the element of the unknown from the main race. Based on this we can already see that Leclerc is not going to win on Sunday.

I have never liked sprint races, but this has shown that tomorrows real race will probably be a bit of a snooze outside of accidents and the FIA throwing random safety cars/red flags.

Only a matter of time until they try reversing the grid in some way for the sprint race, it's the only way to guarantee some actual excitement in such a short race and the entire point of the sprint is that it's meant to make the weekends more exciting.
