Agreed and, at this race, the differences in performances were down to the setup of the cars, Oscar's setup more toward a dry race and Lando's was definitely a wet setup, plus he destroyed his undertray losing a great deal of aerodynamic grip in qualifying. Having said that at least Lando finished the race and did a sterling job in attaining P7

Max is the worst kind of competitor. Not just a bad loser, but a bad winner. Cringing at his chat on the radio this weekend honestly embarrassing. Let the driving do the talking and stfu.

I might bump the Hamilton thread I made to try to understand why there is so much hate for our British number 1. I really find it hard to understand sometimes. If the Perez / Hamilton incident was literally anyone else, we would not be talking about it still.

Its obvious why there's a lot of hate on Lewis Hamilton. I don't need to spell it out for you.

You’re obviously forgetting the crocodile tears from Hamilton during the first hybrid era. Dude constantly complains and puts in the bare minimum for fan participation.

Couldn't watch the race due to Viaplay's terrible App on my TV. Stuttering every few seconds.
I also couldn't be bothered to watch it on my phone either, watched an episode of The Witcher instead :)

Did I miss much?

I literally have no idea what you are talking about. I don't think you do either.
I mean you are a HAM fan so why would you? He and Rosberg were such sulky drivers.

HAM also rarely participates in fan content, so I see no reason why I should support him.

He comes from a era where none of the drivers engaged with the fans that much tbh...

You can't expect him to open up a youtube channel and bring on fans and guests on his channel or play video games with the community like nando.

Different era.

His still very much engaged with the fans through other means and doesn't need to bend over backwards to please me etc.

His done far more for the overall sport in terms of handling diversity and exposure than any other driver.

Vettel too also did huge stuff behind the scenes.

Fan content? Are you talking about the stuff Sky has filmed where they go off and do stuff with kids? Are we to judge all sports stars by how much they do with fans then? Kimmi Raikkonen was loved and respected, but hated media stuff and barely spoke. He let the driving do the talking.
Lewis is the driver that tends to thank the fans at each venue the most on post race/quali interviews.
I think you are clutching at straws there.
Lewis - like most drivers - has been sulky of course. But he's not behaved like Max. Only Max can do Max.

I definitely don't expect him to start-up a Twitch stream, and you can see his other passion/s around music, clothing, etc. which I have no issue with, but there are always like 2-3 videos a year where they do Secret Santa, or some question game, etc. and he doesn't make the effort.

Alonso, Vettel and Kimi (yes, Kimi!) all took part and created a relationship with the fans.

I didn't know F1 was a non-profit. Guess Lewis gets paid in NFTs and thank you notes? Oh wait, it's the income from people watching the sport.

See previous comment regarding content. Maybe also to clarify, I don't hate or dislike him, but I don't see any personality to get attached to.

I voted a 5 again. it looked promising initially with the rain and a different top 3, but then normal service resumed and the field spread increased. In the end it was quite a boring race.

I like Piastri, but even David Blunkett could see that any gap between Sainz and the wall was going to disappear the moment Piastri got there.

How could he possibly predict that Sainz was going to massively lock-up and come steaming the entire way across the track like that? Start at about 20s in this video - the amount of the track that Sainz dived across is crazy. The other drivers who remained under control and were on a similar line to Sainz stayed well over on the left and Piastri would have had plenty of room without Sainz botching it.
