Could you explain as I only saw the bit where Checo passed him to go into the pits through Parabolica?
lewis slowed down a lot probably trying to get more gap but perez was going faster, would have made no sense for perez to slam the brakes to stay behind lewis so he shot past then lewis needed to put his foot down

No further action?! Oh yeah, Ferrari on pole in Monza....

Seems fair enough:

Both drivers stayed at or above speeds necessary to stay below 1:41.0 around the vast majority of the circuit and especially on the straights. However, in both cases the Stewards determined that the drivers took appropriate actions to slow and stay to the side to the track so as to not impede other drivers, and in both cases they did this significantly to allow four drivers to pass while giving those drivers a clear track. The Stewards therefore determine that they did not drive “unnecessarily slowly”, and that evidently the reason they were both slightly above the maximum time was due to their appropriate actions and take no further action.

Going to take something special to keep it tomorrow, but here's hoping.

Can't get excited about this race tomorrow. There's a local community festival happening so I think the prospect of beers outside, street food stalls, live bands (quite god last time even for "local" bands) in the sunshine sounds like a more pleasant way to spend an afternoon than willing the RBs to crash and/or retire :p Merc look positively average, although perhaps with a bit of race pace they'll pick up the pieces from the Ferrari cluster****

Lol Ferrari will not have the race pace. Max will sail off into the distance and win again unless he has a technical issue.

Looks good for a Ferrari podium though. Though knowing them, they will stuff it up and hand the podium to a Merc or something.

Disappointing from Lewis today.

So many poor drivers in this F2 field. Like online racing at times.

Rich journeyman like Nissany should be kicked out for a start, you shouldn’t be allowed to run in this series for 5 years!

With Vesti out early, I think Pourchaire probably has this season wrapped up. The question is whether Alfa/Sauber/Audi will make space for him or leave him hanging like so many F2 champs before. I suspect we won't see any of this field in F1 next year. None of the Red Bull crew have done enough to get ahead of Lawson. Bearman and Martins have been good, but need another season to make their case. Doohan hasn't stepped up from last year and surely won't push Ocon or Gasly out.

It can be quite the clown show, but sometimes it produces great racing. It's always going to be less professional than Formula 1 though, the drivers are mostly younger, more inexperienced, and not as good.

Rich journeymen keep the series financially viable.

Oh agreed I’m not expecting F1 levels of racecraft but you kinda expect at least a couple of the drivers to look F1 material and this years class I can’t say they do!

Did todays race have more than 5 laps straight of running?

Predicting a red Max 1st and Checo 2 with any of the other 6 up for the third place. History could be made here.

Monza being Ferraris back garden just puts to much pressure on Carlos and Charles to perform, especially Charles who doesn’t perform when pushed.

Can't see a Ferrari win unless Max tangles with one of them and they both wipeout, leaving the remaining one clear. Fingers crossed Albon can convert that quali pace in to a strong race result, seems to be enjoying himself in that car.

don't disagree with that at all.

RB 1/2 - then 3rd is up for grabs here.... Ferrari will find a way to make a mess of it somehow!
