I think you all are too optimistic. I am thinking is going to be pretty much the same, Max to speed off to distance, perez to either be on podium or be non existent.

The track doesnt fill be with excitement. The picture is an excellent choice

Opening ceremony was the typical American pomp, I find it all very cringey. Have to agree with what Max said “99% show and 1% sporting event”.

It's the US Era of F1 now. US owned, more US tracks, US team incoming with US engine supplier likely.
Don't be surprised if they split the races soon and have a half time show :D lol

Hopefully not... the cold temps may see teams struggle to get tyres warm so with luck it will be a lottery but I wish F1 wasnt doing 3 races in US... Two MAYBE... how about Kyalami or bringing Turkey back?

Bring it on. In fact, get the writers for "Drive to Survive" to script the whole thing. Not as if it's been a proper sport for a while now.

At some point today, the F1 23 game begins a free weekend on Steam, presumably allowing us to get a feel for the Vegas layout.

It's 6pm this evening to 6pm Monday in the UK. I'll probably give it a go!

*Edit*

Seems its available from the 15th to the 20th on consoles, if anybody with one wants a look.

Weather forecast for race day / time:

Gets up to 20c during the day.

Onboard lap with the Safety Car from their practice laps earlier.

The track looks incredibly bumpy as they go down the long straight down the strip, that will show up a lot more on F1 cars.

Not sure if the track is damp in places, or its the super shiny new oily looking tarmac. I can see something weird happening this weekend due to the nature of the track. Wasn't it one of the early races at Baku that the cars were sucking up the man hole covers due to the aero?

I can see something like that happening here, the green street signs over the track falling off or something.

*Edit*

That video hasn't lasted long, woo for copyrights.

Some trackside TV camera footage is on the F1 Twitter instead.

*Super Edit* :p

F1 have put the onboard footage on their youtube channel.
