Put another way: with both Alonso and Russell holding nothing back they were 0.34s and 0.53s slower on the same lap

I'd guess there's an element of Perez easing off over the line there.

Perez's pace looked good at the end, not sure it would be the same had Max not had to run through the field, but it could be interesting.

He had concerns over his driveshaft though, maybe he was taking it a bit easy because of that, then went for it on the last lap

Boring as hell, I honestly think those radio messages of the RB's having problems where pre recorded to stop the audience switching off!

It's a slam dunk with the latest replays, annoyingly. You can see the jack bracket locate under the beam before the time.
Such a shame.
