Official 2024 Sao Paulo Grand Prix Race Thread - Autódromo José Carlos Pace - Race 21/24

Will Buxton interviewing F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali about what will happen next.

Lewis Hamilton walked up to him, said we need better wet tyres, blankets back on the wets and we would have had a qualifying session.

Caught the whole interview off guard

I’m not sure Lewis is taking into account the safety of marshals, medical staff, the ability for a medical helicopter to fly etc. there’s way more to it than the ability of the cars to get around the circuit.

You could simply delete Lando's name from his post and insert any competitor to almighty Max. He mentioned he'd rather Leclerc, who from memory made loads of mistakes last season. But like most Max fans, he has a very selective memory to suite an any given narrative. A bit like Horner, really.

Agreed leclerc literally fell to pieces under pressure in previous seasons.

Drivers will be considered to be “unclassified” in the following circumstances:

i) If they got eliminated in Q1 or SQ1 and their best session lap exceeded 107% of thefastest time set during that session, unless the track was declared wet by the RaceDirector.
ii) If they failed to set a time in Q1 or SQ1, or if all their laps were deleted
iii) If they got disqualified by the Stewards from the Qualifying session or sprint shootout

The relative classification of such drivers will be determined as follows:

- Drivers who are unclassified because of conditions (i) or (ii) will be allocatedthe top positions in accordance with the order they were classified in P3 (or,in the case a Sprint Session is scheduled, P1)

- Drivers who are unclassified because of condition (iii) will be allocated thelower positions in accordance with the order they were classified in P3 (or, inthe case a Sprint Session is scheduled, P1)

If they can’t run tomorrow it’s going to be very interesting regarding the rules and the above post. Eg does it say somewhere they can pick a more representative session?

The rules say use FP1 on a sprint weekend, it says nothing about using a more representative session. Wouldn't want to go all Masi now would we? :p

I guess with having sprint qualifying there is a strong argument that it is representative. I mean judging it from practice sessions would be interesting though

Whilst I'd like Norris to win the title (a long shot now), part of me would like him to lose by 7 points so McLaren get punished for their stupidity in Hungary.

I mean come on. Why have they only realised that Norris could win the title now?
