That new track surface looking like a waste of money.
Looking a little bumpy up the main "straight" and into the T1 braking zone. Looks like more than a few cars are having their plank ground out.

Oh, and quite a sizeable bump roughly in line with pit entry across the track too.

Engine penalty for Max has just been confirmed, 5 place drop for the race on Sunday.

*edit*

Perez has asked for a new Chassis too, which Red Bull have agreed to swap. Probably in an effort to be a bit less Perez and try and make it out of Q1.
Announce the change as early as possible. Penalties get applied in order they are issued. So if anyone else up the sharp end needs a grid drop, Verstappen will gain places from that.

A grid penalty should also apply to sprint races too, in such circumstances, for any racer.

I'd also like penalties for excessive engine parts to not be applied to the grid in declaration order, but in reverse overall driver classification order from the previous race weekend. So at the mo, Max would get his penalty applied last, as he leads the championship.

Perez is still rubbish then?

Edit - his second run was miles better.

Is that “spectator village” bit on the infield in the final sector new? Never really noticed that before.

Hoping that Magnussen still doesn't feel good enough to take part in race quali tomorrow. Give Bearman the car for the entire weekend. :D
