I mean they shouldn't need to explain what the lights mean to drivers. Should fall in with a jump start, etc. in terms of penalties.

The stewards should get a penalty for absolutely poor communication and reactions in this scenario. They're supposed to control the race and the safety but nobody seems to have a clue where it matters.

He didn't get any benefit from another formation lap. he's not gained anything, so not sure what the penalty should be if any.

This whole day has been clown shoes so far. Looking forward to how they mess the start up again.

Doesn't work like that for jump starts though surely, either way what a mess. Race direction once again slow as anything to make a decision.

its not like the crews were sprinting down the lane at that point in time, so the teams were confused as well I guess.

I guess it depends whether it's like safety car rules, where the lead car is responsible, otherwise yea, it's technically an infringement for everyone who went.
