Yeah Merc look strong I reckon. Shame about Norris, he needs to be pole every race/sprint without fail to put the pressure on.

So I wonder if RB have set their ride height for the sprint, or quali, or the race? Guess we’ll find out :p Are they all in parc ferme now?

Redbull looked rapid so I wonder if they've gone with more quali bias to ensure he has track position and can try to let them scrap behind. Max might be under a lot of pressure in the race. The cars look amazing on turn in on these high speed corners. Proper G force on the direction changes.
Norris needs apparently to average 8.9 points a race more than Max to close the gap and take the title. When put like that, it doesn't seem realistically possible, unless Mclaren start bringing home one twos and others get into the Mix ahead of Max.

Just watched the Sprint qualifying highlights and wasn’t shocked to see Perez underperform.

If I was Dr. Marko, I’d be trying to poach The Hulk from Haas for 2025.
Hulk has already signed for Sauber/Audi for three years from 2025. They ditched Danny Ricc to see what Lawson can do. If he excels and beats Tsunoda then he will likely be in the red bull beside Max next year. We all know Red Bull contracts are written on tissue paper.

And Perez makes mess of it and is out in Q2.

Behind Both Haas, Tsunoda in the RB Cashapp Visa Toro Rosso Alpha Tauti Minardi and Colapinto in the Williams.

Surely red bull must be thinking about swapping him out, Marko is normally quick to chop under performers... O ria it because they don't have any academy drivers ready to make the jump yet?

Also havnt Haas been performing much better since Gunther's exit. I couldn't stand that man and his management style wasn't good for building morale imo. Komatsu seems to be much more level headed and able to bring the team together

He certainly won't be going anywhere before Mexico, after that and I think all bets are off; it wouldn't be the biggest shock to see someone else in the car for Brazil.
Although aside from a certain Australian I'm not sure who else they've got - Hadjar I expect will be left to his F2 title battle rather than mess with him, Marti and Goethe aren't ready and there's Iwasa but I can't see two Japanese drivers getting the nod.

To be fair the car was probably developed under Steiner last year but I don't think its any secret that there seems to be a better atmosphere in the team this year under Komatsu;

With the budget cap nowadays what use is there for a driver bringing in so much money? I’m confused..

I just think Perez’s connections have the dirt on Marko that’s all :D

Like said, I imagine the more of Perez's Carlos Slim money that goes into the team. The less Red Bull Racing have to ask from Red Bull to spend and go play.

I doubt the FIA/F1 check where the money comes from, it's just what is spent from the teams accounts that is monitored.

Why?

Over 220 race starts, he's made the podium once. I don't even understand why he's still in F1, he's a mediocre driver, nothing more.

He's never had a podium, he holds the F1 record for most race starts without a podium and thus also without a win.

He's had 2 fastest laps and 1 pole.

Won Le-Mans though, so he has that going for him.

Hulk also had the honour of queuing behind me for the toilet in the paddock in 2007 at Eastern Creek in Australia for the A1GP round that year :D

Tbf to him he's never really had a strong enough car, he's always been considered as very quick and puts the car in positions it doesn't always deserve, he's just never been taken on by a top team mostly because they have their pool of academy drivers, but every time he comes back he's knocked the expectation of performance out the park, he's been a good addition for Haas,

I think he'd do better than Perez is at the moment, not necessarily in the same league as verstappen or Norris, but would be a good solid 2nd driver.
