**Official 3D Mark 11 scores**

All required runtimes etc.. installed? With me it started out by crippling physics (1-3 fps) and after I ran the sysinfo updater it just refused to do anything :(

Tried uninstalling it, searching for any left overs from futuremark/3dmark/sysinfo manually removing those and re-installing?

Got a GTX460 768mb coming later this week to tide me over and get my main machine up and running (more importantly so I can get back updating the bench thread). Wouldn't hurt to torture it under water while its in ;)

I will double check but believe everything is installed. Could have missed something though!

New high score

Score
P27833 3DMarks

Graphics Score
38949

Physics Score
16835

Combined Score
12884

I was just trying the 125 strap (129 bclk) and put a safe oc on my cards and up came the above. I tried it on other benchmarks but it only seems to make a difference on the 3dmark11 performance preset.

Just done this for a bit of fun in both runs the GPUs are using the same OC
In the first run the CPU is as follows
125 strap (bclk 129) CPU 4.9ghz

Score
P27833 3DMarks
Graphics Score
38949
Physics Score
16835
Combined Score
12884

http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/5005320

In the second run the CPU is as follows
100 strap (bclk 100) CPU @5.0ghz

Score
P27791 3DMarks
Graphics Score
38359
Physics Score
17132
Combined Score
13031

Despite a lower CPU speed in the first run the overall score is higher with a much bigger Graphics score.

In the second run the CPU ran better but can not make up the difference.

I am sick of different configurations. Been trying to get to 5.2 all day and it just wont go stable. I will get there but grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

That stupid PI has got me wanting more :)

@Gregster dont know if this would help! as you know my chip is rubbish, but I did get it to 5.1Ghz last night with 1.62 on the vcore, dont know if you would like to push volts that far tho?

I'm sure 1.6 on Vcore would get you to 5.2 even if it for a quick benchmark test! plus you got a golden chip there!

Are the temps letting you down or is it just the chip wont take it no matter what you do!

Here are my results last night!

For 3dmark11 I prefer lower CPU clocks and just ring the most out of my memory. Doing that I can beat most people on the 3dmark11 boards who push their CPUs way past 5.0ghz in the physics and combined scores.

I have just been reading your post on the ROG forums where someone has sugested really pushing the LLC, I don't think its a good idea to overdo the LLC on the CPU. I have also seen 8 Pack state this is not a good idea.

Having said that bring on the cold weather you can never have too much of that for ocing.:D

Nice temps, nice oc

I was reading on another post you use a water chiller, where did you get it from because the ones I use at work are over a meter tall. !!!

Edit now If I could fit one of those up to my rig even 8 Pack would want one. If they can keep a huge molding machine cool they should be good for a bit of ocing.:D

in google type: (pc water chiller) its the third one down bud. I set the unit to 15c then turned it off at the mains. for 3 hours the temps never went over 30c, shows the water will stay cool even when the unit is off!

Helia chillers ;)

Would love one my self, just cost and space holding me back, pay around £1 per watt on chillers, so you can guess the price range of a 500w I'd need :( and once you float around that price you're in cascade/phase territory :D

Still no word on my gpu replacement, but a 460 will be with me tomorrow, which I'll use for physx once the new lightning is here.

This is because it takes time for the heat exchanger which is sub zero to warm up!!!

I have a chiller but never use it.They are good to be honest but I have no need for one now.

Gregster post your settings and I will help ya.

LLC High for benching you don't need higher. 1.62 v even on chilled water I don't see that lasting too long!!!

My thoughts (for what they're worth).
CPU current capabilities on Auto? What do these turn out to be?
In my experience when overclocking X79 always set these to 120% for light-medium overclocking (4.4GHz-4.8GHz) and 130% for high overclocks (4.8GHz+) and 140% for extreme overclocking.
VCCSA i have at 120% as well @ 4.5GHz/2333MHz

Also Phase Control set to Optimised on all overclocks or extreme for crazy people.

Mate the higher graphics score in the 129 BLK is because your overclocking the bus the graphics card is attached to and hence a bigger score. 3D 11 is mainly graphics so overall is higher too.

I run most graphics bench with PCI ex bus at 105-109 BLK to get this gain with no higher graphics clocks.

Your observation about memory speeds is spot on for 11 you want as fast and tight as possible.

Gregster there is loads of things you can do here mate. The memory needs loads of work.

Digi Power too.

Then on the main page!!!

What I need to do to explain all the changes is put up some bios shots and go through them with you. I will do this Sunday as I am back on X79 for my day to day system.

Sweet cheers 8 Pack. In truth, I have played so much with settings and I have had enough now. A break will do me good and a clear head will help. All help appreciated bro cheers :)
