**Official 3D Mark 11 scores**

I hate you and admire you at the same time - that's not 24/7 clock though right? If not, what is?

I can't push mine a MHz over 101 or it crashes. Factoring in the kepler boost my card reaches (at maximum) a measly 1250MHz.. a full 150MHz off yours.

I can honestly say I've never seen a series of GFX cards so dependent on luck.

Can you RMA cards with poor overclocking capabilities?

I'm close to throwing mine at the wall..

No you can't. Also 1250 MHz is a decent overclock. Stop moaning. :p

Sometimes with Kepler a higher clock speed doesn't equate to a higher score as it self throttles.

My 680 overclocks to 1300 maximum and my graphics score is 11.8k.

I guess 3dmark11 scores in a very peculiar way, 50MHz difference equates to a 2k higher score..

I wrote all that rubbish last night when I was tired, I'm sure this card is going to be great, would just like to have won the chip lottery for once and got a beast.

Hey-ho! :D

Yep all of the core system components have a say in the final score, for example adding another 150mhz to my cpu but dropping the memory down 200mhz gave me a terrible result and is why I'm just figuring out what memory to buy next :)

Vengeance modules are poop!

I'm talking graphics score alone. I scored a 9.8k graphics score with 1250MHz/1777MHz.

I understand what you are saying and being honest, I sympathise. When you see some of the GFX scores, I would have expected most 670's to break 10K and be pushing for 10500 scores.

Out of curiosity, what 670 is it?

Try the 304.79 beta's.

The chip lottery determines your how high you can overclock not normally how it performs at said speed.

As I have said, 1250 Mhz on the core is fairly decent.

I've heard the beta drivers cause BF3 crashes, so I'll avoid them for now.

I'm being a little pedantic, even with the extra 50-100MHz it'd make little to no difference in gameplay, it's just the 3dmark11 scores that I'll see it :p

It's a Gigabyte Windforce.

CPU: i5 2500k @ 4.5

Mobo: Asus P8P67 PRO

RAM: G.Skill 8GB @ 1600

The 670 WF is generally regarded as tops for OC but on here the EVGA is proving to be top dog with the WF a close second. It is chip lottery though.

Great GFX scores...Does it scale that well in AAA games?

They don't. I'm using the 304.79's.

Regarding the extra MHz - a tiny, tiny minority of cards will push 1300 and over. It's not even close to the norm. Your score is low for a 1250 overclock.

Ah okay. I'll give them a go then!

Not sure what to say about the 3dmark11 score then

On another note, has any tried the updated BIOS yet?

I was completely under the impression that it wouldn't help with overclocking but from reading about quite a number of people are saying it's helped them achieve slightly higher clock speeds.

Another 1250MHz / 1750MHz run just to make sure I hadn't made a mistake -P2000

Maybe you get an extra 2k score for paying the extra £100 for the 680? :D

Had mine since release day :). I feel like I've had good value for money so far.

On a separate note, to ensure my machine is maxed out as much as possible I've just bought an i7 3770K :)

Coming for you Locky/Besty!
