**Official 3D Mark 11 scores**

very nice, I assume you guys are getting these updated scores from the new 306.23 driver?

Would OCUK give me a discount if I went for 4 x MSI lightnings

Oh bugger they won't fit in my case

Nice score gregster :D

Thanks guys. My next run put me 10th (not bad IMO with a 2500K still). I have no plans of changing the CPU though. These Lightnings are amazing :)

EVGA could be getting sold soon :p lol only joking....or am I? Meh!!!

My run was on the old 304.79 betas. They gave me more points than the latest WHQL drivers.

Have you tried the 301.42's? They are what I made my 670 benches with, I tried the 304.79's and all the others inbetween but none come close to them

I haven't and now I have my Rig all back together (Only did the single card test whilst I canged the TIM on my EVGA cooler), I probably won't. If someone beats my score I might though :p

If your thinking of buying 4 x £400 cards surely another £150 on a case is peanuts ;)

I would like a 4 card set up but I would have to change a lot more than just the case.

I would probably need a custom wc unit for the CPU to deal with the extra heat in the case.
A new bigger PSU with enough power leads.
I don't know if I could get away with the stock coolers on the cards or would they need wc as well.

It would be easier to start from scratch.

Still theres always next year
The new Corsair 900D looks very nice
If big Kepler ever puts in an appearance
And if IB-E turns out to be any good

Something to dream about :D

Very nice score, :)
whats the temps like after the new tim?

Forget that, sell the Evga and buy a second Lightning :D

Thanks bud :) I would love to do that but cost wise, it just isn't viable. One thing I will say though, the Lightning is a seriously good card and yet is cheaper than a lot of the 680's.

It is deffo my new recommendation for a top end card. Temps re good on my EVGA now. A dust build up in the heatsink vents wasn't helping and new TIM has made a big difference.

Out of interest how much did they drop?

Also have you done a Heaven run with your Lightning?

Finally

Have you seen this-

I bagged a Gainward Phantom 680GTX for £420 in the end. Now that nvidia have forced MSI to disable the Lightnings main touted features, it didn't seem logical.

Yeah, I did hear that MSI was in a bit of a dispute over things like the unlocked voltage control on the lightning, I wonder if this will put an end to their power edition cards as well? I'd still be tempted by the lightning even without the extra features if I was in the market for a 680, just because of the great cooler, build quality and looks.

With a bit of luck the next big Kepler Card will only require Sli to max out games on high res/multi monitor set ups

Yer I did and I now have the fastest 680 in the scores :) I had read of nvidia being an arse over the voltages but didn't think it was to this extent. If you are buying a 680 get the lightning quick.

Wow they really forced MSI to cripple the voltage control on the 680 Lightnings?! Really don't see Nvidias logic behind the strict voltage controls.

I'm sure any 'locked' Lightnings may see an *ahem* leaked bios to regain voltage control. I doubt MSI would even bother creating anymore 680 Lightnings if they had to go changing the voltage regulators along with the BIOS. Fully expect MSI's move to be a kind of locked BIOS that can be flashed.
