Frosty my post was just a bit of banter.

Do me a favour mate and edit that tess mods nonsense out of your post.I have no problem sticking silly volts in to my hardware, my 3930k will testify to that :), But i would never cheat. I know it was just in jest but i find groundless accusations of cheating to be in poor taste.

We'll see about that ;)

lol I'm not editing anything it was a joke. If the results valid then it is valid ;)

Bit more defensive there then I anticipated!

I was probably a bit narky this morning. I tend to lack a sense of humour when on night shift :o. It doesn't help that you can be such a cheeky git at times :D

Shouldn't be hard with that cpu by the looks of things, sorry ;)

You should not be far behind Kaap if those coolers don't hold you back, already know the scaling is better. Sadly it'll be short lived :p

I doubt I'll catch Kaap, his scores are too good. I'm only slightly ahead so far using clocks of 1200/1500 so you've still got a chance.

But for 8 cores the CPU performance has not turned up

For DDR4, 8 Pack overclocking and 8 cores the Physics score is very bad.

2 more cores should give a nice boost of course and I think roughly 4K going from 4 to 6 clock for clock from a 4770 to a 3930K, so I see Ian's score at 3.7 ish and that does impress me. Interested to see where it will go to for regular clickers mind and how the 5930K does.

I think the smart money is on the 5930k as it will clock higher and push GPU scores more. The physics score won't be too far behind the 5960X and for gaming the 6 core CPU will give better performance too.

Having said that I am seriously interested in the 5960X for running Civ5, this is a game where CPU overclocking makes very little difference as it is all about bandwidth and raw CPU grunt.

Yer, the sensible money will go for the 5930K I think I have talked myself out of the 5960X :D I still want to see some scores and clocks on the 5930 before deciding what to do, if anything at all.
