Almost 1000 point difference for Graphics Score.
This score is with default driver ?

AMD Radeon R9 290 video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-4770K,ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. MAXIMUS VI IMPACT

Sorry, should've been clearer. My 290X cards have Hynix memory. I found there to be around a 1000 point difference in Graphics score between my 290P Elpida and Hynix cards.

Same clocks on cards and you have 1000 points plus with Hynix ?
This is really interesting.

Uhm... youre saying that if my 290p had hynix, id get 15700-15800 GS?

Don't know if it will be exactly 1000 points, but Hynix is faster clock for clock for sure. 8Pack has confirmed this too on this very forum somewhere. It was the same with my 290P cards with Elpida. I still have one Asus 290P with Hynix but i sold both my 290P Elpida cards so can't retest. When i did compare runs, there was a 1000 point difference or so.

A bios on an Elpida card will have slacker timings to achieve the same clocks as a Hynix, a clever trick employed by vendors - AMD and Nvidia vendors both do it.

Can you give us a run with your card at stock clocks ?

I can, but that would involve taking my pc apart and that's something i hate doing. I will do it though at some point and test for you, but right now i don't have time for it. When i get round to it i will let you know though. In the meantime i posted an overclocked score on older drivers so you can compare that if you like. That was using my Hynix 290P card. That was using clocks of 1260/1625 i think.

Lmao. Now I've read it all! Gain 1K gs by using a different brand of memory ic. Nevermind the 10% difference in shaders lol, it means nothing. Amazing...

I was glad both my 290P and 290X reference cards had Hynix VRAM which was rare for one, never mind two :P

Both those coolers came straight off and replaced with Kraken G10's and Corsair H55's :D
