I wondered why my lights were flicking on and off, its just Kaapstaad doing a suicide run on his rig trying to beat Whyscotty :>

EVGA GTX580 @ 841/2028 on air cooling

i7 860 @ 4Ghz on water cooling

Score: 4647
GFX: 5181
Physics: 9966
Combined: 1807

Not bad for an old rig if I do say so. Long live 1156! :D

Should I go for another 580 of the 3gb flavour and sli them? A better single card (GTX760+)? Or upgrade the cpu & mobo? :D

If it was me I would be looking to go Haswell 4770k (a 4670k would not be much of an upgrade) and a HD 7950/70 or GTX 670/770.

This really deserves a thread of it's own though.:)

I5 2500k 4.3ghz on p67a platform
MSI GTX 670 PE. boosts to 1150mhz. Core is rubbish and wont overclock. Memery seems fine at +405mhz offset.

Score of 6165 and graphics score of 7094.

Does that seem about right? How are people getting 7000 + with a single 670!? Im guessing their cores are at 1350 or more

It is all down to the silicon lottery. Having said that a graphics score of 7094 shows your card is working fine.

And you are on the scoreboard.:)

i crept just over the 7000 mark with a 670 at 1365mhz core and +800 memory, as kap said its a lottery

Indeed, and i havent won the lottery this time around ( i never get lucky with good overclockers).

However, i think i can get more out of the core by upping the voltage BUT the next issue is that the power limit wont go above 100% even when i have set the slider to the max (114%) so even though it seems stable at 1250 with a voltage bump it throttles as it reaches the TDP limit.

Grr

to get that overclock stable I had to take the sides off my case, set fans to 100%, blow a house fan on side, open patio doors behind me and that was on a winters day.

im sure you could get a few more points out of it by doing extreme things like that so the thermal threshold is never reached

Updated score from my system. CPU a bit lower, Cache higher. GPU higher but not running the test in multimonitor mode this time.

i5 4670k @ 4.6 watercooled, cache 40.
3xGTX680 @ 1241/1687.5 (320.49) watercooled.

Score 15042
Graphics Score 23412
Physics Score 9184
Combined Score 5522
