**Official 3DMark 'Fire Strike' Leaderboard**

My XFX 750W PSU keeps crapping out on me. As soon as i approach 750W pulled from the wall the pc turns off. In reviews i read this psu was good for about 900W before crapping out. Looks like i got a crappy one.

Gonna have to dial back my cpu/gpu overclock a bit to complete this one. Strangely i managed to complete the Extreme test at higher gpu clocks.

You're killing my pc, you do realise this. :p

Well this has put a hammer in the works. My psu is shutting down just before it gets to 750W. The pc turns off in the fina bench of firestrike, cpu+gpu. According to my leccy thing it goes up to about 740W and then the pc turns off.

Tried cpu at 5.1,5.0. Now gonna try 4.8ghz. I might have to lower the gpu's as they're pulling most of the wattage. This sucks. I thought the psu would at least handle a bit more than this.

On this bench you don't score many points on the CPU, it is a fraction of what you get in 3dmark11. So dropping a bit of speed on the CPU won't cost too many points.
 
I'm preparing for one last run Kaap. Its really annoying as i know the 13.11 drivers add some gains. A quick look at my extreme score will tell you that. Not far behind your 7970's tbh. :D

I can definitely beat my old score as it was done ages ago, but not sure the psu is gonna let me finish.

The plot thickens!!

So i ran it again with lower clocks on cpu+gpu but same thing happened as it got up to 750W. This time when i turned the pc back on i got this message.

Could this be a bios setting? I noticed there is an anti surge support feature enabled in my mobo bios. Would that be causing this?

EDIT

The pc is plugged into a surge protector 4 plug thingy mah bob as well.

Progress Update!!

Think ive found the problem. I had my pc plugged into a energenie thing which monitors wattage used. I just unplugged that and disabled surge protection in the bios and i managed to complete a run at 4.8ghz. Don't add this score yet Kaap, will run another at 5.1ghz. ;)
