I can't seem to find anything on here related to this game, came across it when reading about Dead State.

The Background/Story:

"7 Days to Die is an open world, voxel-based, sandbox game that is a unique mash up of First Person Shooter, Survival Horror, Tower Defense and Role Playing Games combining combat, crafting, looting, mining, exploration, and character growth.

In the near future where the a third world war leaves the Earth in ruins but the worst was yet to come. Nobody knows for sure if it was the radiation, the biochemical weapons or an act of god but an unknown virus soon transforms the surviving humans into an army of the animated dead, acting as a single-minded being.

You play a survivor trapped in the savage zombie infested world of Navezgane County Arizona one of the last true Eden’s on Earth. Ironically Navezgane means “Killer of Monsters” to the Apache who have inhabited the land for centuries, and that’s pretty much what you’ll do as you fight to survive and search for the truth behind what really happened."

The kickstarter can be found HERE

Trailer HERE

May as well add the pledge prices and what you get, unfortunately it is pretty expensive for Alpha access:

  • 5$+ - THE SCAVENGER - Kickstarter Backer Badge for the 7 Days to Die forums.
  • 15$+ - THE SETTLER - Download the finished game for PC, Mac or Linux + Kickstarter Backer Badge
  • 25$+ - THE WARRIOR - Early Beta Access + Finished Game + Kickstarter Backer Badge
  • 35$+ - THE SUNRISE SURVIVALIST - Early Alpha Access + Beta + Finished Game + Kickstarter Backer Badge

After this it gets pretty ridiculous all the way up to 10,000$. If you want access to the Alpha which from what I have heard, is being released either in the next week or month you will have to shell out $35 or for us £22.99 which being fair given that other kickstarter games (or at least the ones I have bought/backed) tend to cost around $15-20.

It has just been put on from what I can see.

Watch the video on the kickstarter page, it is pretty impressive. I am a big fan of Minecraft and this game has a lot of Minecraft elements but with a different approach to visuals and ofc, there is a good reason to built traps/fortresses in this but in Minecraft it is mainly just for the appeal of living in a fortress.

Looks pretty cool. The one grievance I've gathered from the video is the lack of aiming down sights/ironsights etc. I hate FPS games that force you to shoot from a crosshair alone, takes away half the fun :P.

Hope it reaches its goal and becomes another contender in all the zombie open world games that are on their way. The more competition, the more likely one of them will become great.

This pretty much, if a games going to try and have some twitch FPS elements then it needs to be a twitch FPS lol. A crawl-pace zombie sandbox needs ironsights.

I did start a thread when the game was announced, back in May... http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18513574
but no-one else seem really fussed by it :(

I bought the $15 founder pack the week it was announced, so have early Alpha access, hopefully this month!
That said, I think their KS is a tad ambitious - $200k in 30 days when a lot of early adopters have already bought the game! I can't see it getting there, let alone their ridiculous stretch goal levels!

You might want to edit this thread title, though, as there are going to be way more than 7 ways to die :)

Thought I would update this:

The kickstarter goals have been updated to be more realistic. It now has 24 days left is at 34k out of the 200k needed. At this rate they are going to fall just shy by the closing date.

If you like the look of it, go for it. I want to see it succeed :D

This looks great! Would like to see this succeed as its the kind of game I've been looking for. DayZ meets Minecraft should be a right good giggle. :)

- Backed!

Just bought.

THE SUNRISE SURVIVALIST – PLEDGE $35 – Early Alpha Access + Beta + Finished Game + Kickstarter Backer Badge

I believe we get Early Alpha the 16th..so not long.

Pre-Ordered the 35 Euro version the other day along with some friends. Hope they can get the alpha to us on the 16th, looks great!

Pre-ordered the $35 a while back, the game looks great and after the whole youtuber boom with gameplay, it makes me glad that I have. The game looks really interesting and the features shown so far looks great, especially for Pre-Alpha!

Ironsights ruined twitch fps gaming imo.

Quake etc = twitch fps = run, spin around, aim while running, fire while running
Ironsights = stop moving, aim, fire, begin moving

Well its the 16th and ive not received an email with how to download it as of yet,Although i read on their forums that for those what have backed "THE SUNRISE SURVIVALIST" which i bought,May still not receive their code/download for up to two weeks after the 16th...which is pretty poor imo..hope i get it soon.

I don't think that any twitch FPS games have ironsights do they? When they introduced iron sights they created abit of a split in the genre, kinda like how racing is split between realistic track racing and arcade 'twitch' racing. Not that the majority of ironsight FPS games are realistic because they aren't but yeah. :p

As for this though, if it has fast movement and twitch elements then that's fine but if its a slow paced shooter it generally will need ironsights to make the game feel better imo.

Fantastic concept and gameplay mechanics, I really hope this goes well as I intend to buy it when it's released!
