****Official Aliens vs Predator Thread****

I find FPS easier with controller. I grew up with controllers so I'm well used to it, whereas it takes a bit of getting used to before I can play properly on a PC FPS.
 
Well, I'm having great difficulties finding a game to play in.

Do you have to be grouped with friends to play this or can you 'free-for-all'?
 
Its shocking that they released the PS3 demo in such a state. I have moved over to the Battlefield demo and it works flawlessly meaning I have pre-ordered it! I was really looking forward to the AvP game but the demo has put me off because it simply doesn't work which doesn't bode well for the companies image.
 
Mugen - I hope so, but I haven't read anything regarding that. Split-screen doesn't seem particularly "fashionable" among developers at the moment which is kind of annoying :( also I think it's to do with them not being able to maintain a reasonable FPS when there's roughly twice as much work for the console to do.

P.S. Samurai Champloo rocks :D

Totality - I agree. I was ready to pre-order if the demo was any good, but this shambles has put me right off. Here's hoping Colonial Marines can do better...

Hmm, I can't see any demos that are 700MB bigger?

The UK store one is 1138MB and the only USA demo I can see is 1285MB. I'm not sure why there is a size discrepancy, but I think they're both the same crappy deathmatch game :(

i must have been looking at another demo then lol, its strange as it doesnt mention anything about MP though, i can hope lol.
 
Cancelled my pre-order..probably pick it up when its a bit cheaper or maybe when i trade in a few games...just got Bioshock2 so want to really finish that and also GTA the DLC episodes which i havent really bothered playing but have started the other day.

Plus i wasnt that impressed with the demo in all honesty.
 
ooo seems to be getting some really decent reviews. After reading that IGN review i agree with mose of what they say tbh from my taster of the demo in regards to gameplay.

Whilst I was really looking forward to this, that IGN review has lowered my excitement somewhat. I might even get Heavy Rain instead now, and then once that is completed trade that in and get AvP.

IT's still in development afaik, SEGA are quite rightfully testing the waters with releasing AVP first. So how well that does will probably impact whatever happens to Colonial Marines in the end.

I also noticed this, the earliest I ever got a preorder from Play was 2 days before the game came out and that was Madden 09. I just checked my account and it's not packing yet it still says 'order placed' so it'll probably head out on Monday or Tuesday morning.
 
finaly played this last night on a mates 360, and though it was awesome :D i didnt realy get on well with the alien, but the marine and pred were great fun, the sounds and atmosfear make it a day 1 purchase for me.
 
Really looking forward to this now, hopefully HMV will ship my Hunter Edition early and I'll be playing by Thursday :)
