I'm recording BF4 @ 40MB/s 1080P 30FPS on a 7200RPM Drive, seems to work fine, the performance of the Drive makes no difference, well, not that i can tell, its not accessing the Drive as far as i can tell while recording, i don't know how it does it, i record, no drive accessing and yet there is a 10GB video file on the drive once i'm done recording..

BF4 Online, Settings 1440P Ultra, 2x MSAA.

Investigating the Mantle Frame Pacing methods built into the Frostbite 3.0 engine. Also perhaps a timely reminder that Mantle optimisation/performance in supported titles is in the hands of the developer - not AMD. I've seen a few comments regarding this in a different thread that were inaccurate. :)

4x290X 8GB @ Stock
Battlefield 4
3840x2160 + 150% Resolution Scaling = 5760x3240
Ultra Preset +x4AA

TL : DR - For my setup Frame pacing method 2 provides the smoothest gameplay when using extreme amounts of resolution scaling. If i was running resolution scale of 0% at 2160P then Frame Pacing method one works well.

Hmm im at 1080 with 4xaa , i suspect my cpu is to blAme. What gpu/ gpus do you have and fps when recording?

Regarding the drive theres also a temp folder which might be located on a different drive.
 
Hey Mr Matt, Do you by chance know if Mantle will be implemented in Alien Isolation ? I remember reading about it in an upcoming Mantle enabled games list :)
 
Am just hoping GTA5 is still true! That would be a real winner for Mantle. Mantle already been in the biggest shooter of 2014 and soon 2015 with Hardline.

But a real winner for AMD and the API would be GTA5.

One can wish!

Would be nice, Quite pleased with Mantles performance so far, Putting my newly bought 295X2 through it's paces, Tiz a beast I tell you, A BEAST !!! :p

I'd put money on it not being true.
Calling BF series as the "biggest shooter" is also opinion.

But Mantle in GTA 5 would be very much win. But I very much doubt it, which is a shame.

No, thats what, Robert on Twitter i think it was, responded to, he explained that they have been close to Rock Star for years, AMD did some promotional work for them in kind.
Some how that got miss-interpreted as AMD working with Rock Star on GTA V and Mantle. :)

Well maybe they might patch it in like they did with BF4 and Sniper :)
