by upping the HT you could loss performance if theres not enough HT voltage...
it won't fail or crash.
So is HT like ECC ram? Like on the ATI 5 series?
It doesn't fail just looses performance.

alexp999. your real cpu temp 59c!! its to high, max is 62c.
also this is from amd
Dear Gareth,
Correct, as long as you are within the voltage and temperature guidelines you are ok. The temperature that should be monitored is the overall CPU temperature, not the core temp.

because the max is 62c so you need to try to keep is under 50-55cWhy is it too high? Seems a perfectly normal temp to me.
Its not gonna get anyway near that for normal use.
"cpu" temp dipped between 55 and 59 depending on fft.

u really don't get the point do u.Which it is, that was 10 hrs stress testing. It never went above 59*C, seems fine to me.
u really don't get the point do u.
nobody wants to run they system close to the max because the components won't last long,
heat kills components
but ok it's up to u. im just trying to help
one last thing. i think the 62c max thing is for stock settings
mine doesn't go over 48c when prime testing, this is at 4ghz 1.425v /2.6ghz 1.225v.TBH mine hits about the same as Alex's under stress testing.
I don't know how you can keep it at ~50C with the volts and power draw you're putting in without using some serious cooling, and loud fans.
I hit about 59C max load temp when prime testing @ 1.4V, and it is solid as a rock.
In games etc the CPU temp rarely goes over 45C.

im not sure about if there any points on the motherboard to check what the cpu voltage isI did say its 1.40v LLC But i know what you mean, lol. Are there any points on mobo for you to check what cpu voltage is?
Also what cooler are you using?
Finally, till I find out otherwise im pretty sure "cpu" temp is a mobo sensor, so its going to be slightly different on each mobo, only thing we can directly compare is core temps i think.
Hopefully Ill hear back from Asus as to which is which, lol.
