*Official* Antec 1200 Case's,Builds,Modifications & FAQ's

Ok, stupid question time, I'm sure there is an obvious answer.

I just powered up for the first time to check everything is working and the front 3 fans didn't start, the 200mm and the 2 exhaust work fine as does the CPU, Graphic, PSU e.t.c

All the fans have power so whats wrong?

Thanks.

Power connectors are definitely secure.

Side panel control?

There is a control on the back for the top and exhaust fans but the 3 front ones have a speed regulator but no control that I can see.

Does anyone have any idea?

I can't imagine that all 3 front intake fans broke at the same time while all the others work fine so I must be missing something obvious.

One thing I should mention and I'm not sure if the case is this smart but I haven't installed any hard drives yet so it did cross my mind that the fans were dependent on a hard drive being installed first i.e power and sata connector plugged in - don't laugh ;)

Or maybe they are dependent on heat and take some time before they get going.

I've tried to think of whats wrong but can't figure it out, any idea's?

Many Thanks.

try connecting them to a different 4 pin molex connector, maybe they are not actually getting any power and by dasy chaining them none of them work?.

Tried that as well.

I really can't figure it out.

I assume from the lack of replies this isn't a standard problem?

Thanks everyone, sorted it - it was a power problem.

6 fans daisy chained on one connector didn't work, the first 3 on the chain did but the last 3 didn't.

I used another molex lead that plugged into my PSU and connected up that way but it still didn't work but it did work if I just used another molex on the same lead as the other 3.

Strange but it works now ;)

On my 900 I've just got them Daisy chained to one power connector from the PSU and they start

Yes I know you can m8, but what I ment was 3 might be ok the 4th might not make proper contact so any after that 4th will not work, which is what I recon has probably happened here, only need one not to be working in the chain and the ones after(not before) it will not work.

Anyhow you got it working thats all that matters :-))

Brand New 2nd Antec 1200 Build :o)

Started my 2nd Antec 1200 build last weekend, Components included:

Gigabyte MA790FX-DS5.
Gigabyte 800Watt ODIN GT PSU.
EVGA GTX 260 896MB DDR3.
Crucial Ballistix 4GB.
Samsung 750GB HDD (32MB Cache)
Creative Labs Xtreme Gamer Sound Card.
Samsung DVD Drive.

Build went extremely well thanks to the vast amount of space the Antec 1200 has, the 6x 120mm & 1x200mm fans are doing an awesome job of keeping my components nice and chilly.....

Hope you like the pictures.. ;)

I don't know, there is something bout the case that I just don't like. I feel the top is just too smoothed, I like the big bulkiness that is my 900, I love it's sharp edges and bold appearance.

As for comments on the side windows, I have to admit I did have neon lights in mine and it was lit up like a christmas tree and I loved it at the time but got bored of it very quickly.

Now with my new build I just use my motherboard to light up my case, I'm not even kidding my motherboard has a mass amount of LED's on it and I still think it looks awesome. Especially with my Vortexx Neo also bathing the case in a subtle blue glow :)

Nice pics. The 1200 was on my shortlist for my next case, but I'm leaning towards the new CM HAF 932. Just wish they'd painted the insides black aka the Antec. Does the 1200 run fairly quiet even with all six fans on?

Have to agree about twelve hundred noise with fans on full it isnt terrible.. My old old old athlon 64 system made as much noise. Cooling has been superb in it and as i soon as i get a replacement psu ill post some pics :)

Nice one BFG, so when you planning your next build? christmas? :D

Thanks M8..;) Going to have a break from building any more for a while, going to enjoy my PC's and get back into TF2 again, miss my gaming :D Do you play TF2 if so I will put you in my friends list...

BFG do a pic of the inside, so i can see cable management please?:)

There you go M8...;) Going to do some small tweaks next weekend
