Melbourne

When was the track built?
The deal to host 1 in Melbourne was sealed in 1993, with the decision to create a circuit using a mix of existing roads around the city’s Albert – mainly Aughtie Drive and Lakeside Drive if you fancy a joyride – a little detour through the Lakes Stadium’s car parkWhen was its Grand Prix?
Just after Adelaide held its last Australian Grand Prix at the end of 199, the Formula1 teams were back in Australia for's first Grand Prix at the start of 1996. That race is most for Martin Brundle’s infamous Jordan crash at Turn 3 after he launched himself off the back of Johnny Herbert’s Sauber.

Whats the circuit like?
As a temporary facility, Albert Park can be quite bumpy, while the circuit at the start of the weekend is often slippery, rubbering in the sessions progress. It’s also a circuit that requires a well-sorted chassis, with several spots on the track where drivers need a reactive front end to chuck it into a corner. Melbourne is also one of faster tracks on the calendar, with Max Verstappen’s 2024 pole lap set an average of over 250km/h go?
Often found on lists of the world’s best cities, Melbourne a blast all year round – it only gets better when Formula1 rolls into town. There are and aplenty you’re right by the beach, the race appearance at the start of autumn means temperatures be peachy.

Where is the best place to watch?
If you want to get in grandstand opt for either the Waite stand overlooking Turn10 or the Brabham Grandstand on outside of Turn 2 to watch cars jostling for position the first chicane. Alternatively, there some nice general admission spots on far side of the – go for either between Turns 8-9 910 if you fancy some F1 picnic.

Hope Piastri wins his home race, will be a great start to the season. 100% will be watching live, as I want to see who has been sand bagging in testing and see how the new driver pairings start out at Ferrari/Merc/RB etc.

I'm looking forward to seeing whether things live up to how close it seems like the teams should be this year. If I had to predict a winner I'd ever so slightly give it to Norris but wouldn't rule out Piastri. I think Ferrari/RB drivers are all in with a solid chance, then Merc not too far behind. Equally predicting a rookie crash in the mix that could spice things up.

I'll be keeping an eye on Sainz, would love him and Williams to be up there if they can be.

Sainz getting a podium this year would be fantastic - although not expecting it at all.

Even better, I'd love to see him win a race this year.
Might be too much to ask, but you never know. Albon has had the car in good positions here and there and Colapinto seemed fast if a little too close to the limit. I do think they've got a strong pairing and are on the up.

As it's going to be hot then I expect the cars performance to be vastly different from what they were in testing. In fact if any teams bring different aero parts and bodywork then it could be very different.
Going to be interesting to see what happens...

Overrated track and annoying time to start the season imo. ;)
It will be interesting to see which of the new guys flop or rise to the occasion.
