***Official Batman Arkham Origins Thread***

 as expected really they are putting everything into getting the DLC out the door instead of anymore patches for the many game breaking progression bugs :(

Does not surprise me at all IMO this game is the 2013 definition of shovelware you can see so many of the scripts were re-used from the Rocksteady Arkham games & so little spent on the actual artwork production as its of such a low standard. Typical big publisher 2013-14 minimal effort release

I finished City earlier and enjoyed it. Have the issues been sorted out on this yet?...is the actual game any good?

cheers

I had only one issue with the game and that was an unobtainable item due to an animation bug. But that was sorted when someone posted a glitch you could use to unlock it. From just skimming through the posts here sounds like they made the game worse after release as I didn't encounter nearly as many problems.

There are still bugs compared to the none in city but most of them have been ironed out. Its a good game but if you encounter a bug halfway through it leaves you feeling annoyed.

I had to restart halfway through a playthrough because of the infinite falling bug. At the end of the 2nd playthough i had two map markers that pointed to things that didnt exist. So i uninstalled it. Good game but bugs can leave you very frustrated.

Thanks. Between this and Watchdogs, I am probably going to go for this as I can get it for less than a tenner, and keep my fingers crossed that I don't see any major bugs. Tbh though, these games can get a bit repetitive, so I am kind of thinking that a break and then coming to it fresh again might be a good idea....I mean, I only finished City today.

Got it downloaded and about to start. Went through the benchmark and performance seems pretty good. I was initially a little disappointed with the graphics tbh, but my God, sweetfx does wonders for the Batman games!

Played for about an hour, and I have to say I have experienced a few glitches. It seems quite shoddy tbh, audio cutting out and characters going invisible. It does look very nice now I have sweetfx set up though. Performance seems OK, but a slight stutter every now and then. It has obviously gone for a much more cinematic feel, which I am not sure about atm. The first two games had their own way which it seems a shame to lose.

Have to say, I'm just not feeling it tbh. Not in the same league as City so far.

It is simply less fun.

Also pretty sure I have had at least one, maybe two objective markers pointing me to the wrong place.

Oh, and the new 'trend' of flashing screens all over the place is getting tiresome. It is not cool, it looks ridiculous.

I had one objective marker point me to something that didn't exist when I got there. Had to guess where the objective was from YT videos.

Crack on though, as the Deathstroke and Bain fights are epic, and flashes of brilliance in a somewhat lacklustre imitation of City.

Just started this, have to say imo the game is far better then AC, So much fun and some of the fights are really epic. AA is stil the best game for me but this one is second best without a doubt. When I say just started I am actually about halfway, not had a game hook me like this in ages.

I never played the batman games until i saw the original trailer for batman arkham knight
Got the 3 games cheap, so i am blasting through those at the moment..

Nearly finished AA (going by my game save percentage)

So looking forward to AK, but the gameplay video where the batmobile basically looked like it was on castors took the gloss off it for me...
I know Bruce Wayne as the money to prob get that mod fitted to his car but it looked a bit OTT for me

Really got into it now. It is very good. Not as good as City, but good.

It is still disappointing though, as it is technically worse than City. Performance isn't a good even though it barely looks any better, and it seems like the controls are a little less responsive. There are also far too many limitations such as not many grapple points, and ways to do things.

The boss fights are absolutely appalling. Doing Coppered atm and I just want to find a way to skip this mind-numbing tedium.... Let's make the screen flash all the time. The kiddies will love that!

Deathstroke was poor as well.

I am loving it tbh. Still playing it for all the pickups, much better then AC was, I agree with the grapple points though sometimes it is just really stupid you can't grapple to certain places that I am sure the other games had less limitations.
