Sniping is the way forward on hardcore. Easy KD, easy points.

I do pretty well with 4x scope and an AN94.

Anyone else think more maps are needed sooner rather than later and the option to play games with no snipers? Intense infantry battles over the crates/mcom stations are the highlight of the game. Vehicle balance is good but snipers are just plain annoying and useless. If your team is doing rubbish, you can bet its because most of them are snipers that cant keep up with the fast/effective part of the team.

I do like snipers but its all about balance and if everyone snipes you aint gonna win... maybe the way forward is to limit the amount of snipers allowed on each team?

Have all the unlocks now and finding multiplayer quite boring :( compared to MW2 where at higher prestige levels at least you get paired against people of similar ranks 9/10 so theres some competition. In BFBC2 pretty much every game i/my squad dominate but usually still end up losing the match due to the low skill level of most the other players playing. Hell the same goes for the reverse - opponent skill too low in some games so we end up sweeping through like some crazed german WWII tactic.

Gaming gods, give me a competative match :( Please.

Lol, yea some levels are a bit of a blitzkrieg. Obviously its more annoying if your team are on the recieving end, but even doing it is boring, not many kills usually and its not a challenge.

Medic, 4x scope, magnum ammo (When you get it) and M60.
Dont go all Rambo to revive people who rush in stupidly. Look for team-mates gathering around cover and drop med packs for points.

On Rush, if you get to follow squad members or team-mates onto a site, chuck down a med pack as they plant then flee to safe distance. Your of more use mid-range 'Sniping' with the scoped M60 then reviving on the site.

-edit-

Its worth noting that KD isnt the be-all and end all of playing this game however.
A good medic with a 0.5 K/D but loads of revives and healing is worth more to his team then a ~2.0 K/D medic who does nothing to assist the team.
An awesome medic manages both, however ;)

MW2's matchmaking system was pretty much non-existent. At least, when I played MW2, I'd always get paired with very high level players and I hadn't even prestiged yet. It made for an impossible game at times with people having all the high-level unlocks like the shotguns and just running everywhere with lightweight owning everyone in the face. In BC2, all you need is a single squad working together and it can easily turn the tide of a battle to be in your favour. Sometimes you get some absolute idiots on the same team, but if you get your squad working together, you'll almost always overcome this and win the game, unless you're up against two organised squads on the enemy team, in which case you'll just need to work a little harder.

Alpherah, got any tips for a good KD? I'm a good gamer but I'm failing miserably.

Best tip I can give is that you shouldn't just rush in blindly when you're making your way through a hot area. And also sprinting often lands you in even bigger trouble than if you'd have spent the time moving to your objective slowly and carefully. Basically, approach the game as if you were a real soldier. I'm fairly certain that they move from cover to cover and they don't just rush in blindly. If you follow these simple rules, you'll have a good chance of catching the enemy out, rather than being caught out. Don't treat the game as an arcadey shooter like MW2. Tactics in BC2 reward you more :)

I hear you guys on the Snipers off modes etc.

I think a cool mode would be like an overwatch v.s. ninja type scenario, where it's still essentially rush, but the defenders spawn about 200m away from the m-coms and the rushers have to get them planted without getting raped. The defenders can only use recon kits and the attackers can't use recon kits, I reckon that would be quite cool, it would help teach people about using cover, smoke etc.

Maybe a limit of one sniper rifle per squad, and no snipers when not in a squad? Maybe as part of a "Intense" game option designed to speed up the action? Along with other rules like decreased M-COM station plant time and strengthened buildings/weakened mortars?

KD tips slambo!

Find a squad you can rely on, your field of vision on battlefield is small so going around with the squad improves your chances of living in a lot of ways and improves your chances of killing due to more reliable communication, spotting and more firepower.

a lot of the times on my own I will get killed from enemies I dont see, or by the time I notice them appearing on my flank its too late. With a squad the people behind you will notice enemies that you wouldnt see a lot of the time and if you are behind someone, if they get killed you can see where its from. Very rarely does one man take down more than 2 people if he runs into a squad, unless he's lucky and they all have their backs turned.

Bottom line, find a squad. I dont know what the psn is like, but if you join a game and find yourself in a good squad with randoms (a rare occurance...) who work well together, send them a message/friends request. a lot of the time they will appreciate having someone more reliable as a squad member instead of a random.

Also if you find yourself trying to get somewhere, instead of dying and probing for spots and wasting respawns, use smoke to get through!

That sounds terrible :p

I'm finding snipers less of a problem. The rounds where you are getting obliterated by snipers seem to be the ones you end up winning because no one on the other team pushes forward.

+10000

And put it between you and the enemy, don't just smoke where you're going and blind you and your squad mates, if someone's coming through the smoke to get you you want to be able to see him! Countless times I've been blinded completely by my teammates (not squadmates) as they try to get to a spot, instead of covering themselves the just end up drawing attention and fire.

Maybe, but getting just an extra 100 points isnt worth it for hearing 'SWOOSH' every 10 seconds and running for cover, only to run to somewhere that a sniper has covered.
