*** Official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread ***

Iv just picked up BC2 360 version, I did have the ps3 version when it came out but as i dont have a mic for the ps3 i went for 360 this time around.

Im downloading Vietnam as i speak so if anyone wants to add me for some online action feel free:)

Just wasted my money on the Vietnam expansion. Maybe I've been playing BC2 too much but this game just gets even more ridiculous each time I play it. I've lost track of seemingly impossible kills - knifed from 6 feet away, shot with sub machine guns in a few bullets by a speck on the horizon. Grrr, the list goes on.

Just popped on and seen that Operation Hastings is unlocked on the 360 (PC users got it yesterday), have a little bit of bias towards it as i'm from Hastings lol but definately a great map from initial impressions, definately the biggest map and 2 huey's, tanks, patrol boats, jeeps, tuk tuk's and 4 spots on conquest (not played Rush). Recommend everybody try it!

Edit: Just checked and it appears 360 is only at 43 mil of 69, maybe a bug or just for new years?

Tried liking BFBC2...I think it's a dire game.

For starters the sensitivity is odd...when walking around it feels laborious and slow whereas when you look down the sight of the gun it becomes MEGA sensitive and because its so slow when not looking down the sight you really can't adjust it.

The online play seems meh...the graphics are significantly worse in multiplayer. The single player seems like your standard FPS single player campaign, nothing to add to the genre.

If you have come to battlefield looking for any sign of a singleplayer game then dont expect to find anything. Online its not about the graphics, its about balance. Having one or two people with ultra fast reactions and ultra fast connections doesn't mean much in a big game like this.

The maps are big, but theres plenty of action, it gives a lot of opportunities to out manoeuvre your enemy. The independence means the game is what you make of it, if you are not an anti tank person and you go tank hunting, then prepare to fail.

Having a good squad improves the experience tenfold, maybe thats what you are lacking? The feel is different, but once you get used to it, its fine.

What's happeneing with EA lately, I've noticed for past 4 or so days (so that's now 2 years lol) that under my stats my rank is fine but some games I join, me & other players will be at the starting rank, ie no unlocks etc, does my head in, anyone else getting this problem? Sorry if spelling bad, typing this on my blackcurrant (I am on ps3) version of BC2

I really like BC2 but totally agree about the sensitivity. The ratio between hip and ADS is messed up and the major thing I hate. 1943 was incredibly fast at the hip and slow and steady down the sight, basically perfect. This game is the opposite. And from what I hear they made it even worse for Vietnam.

Part of the problem is they put a huge acceleration curve on the hip sens. So it takes about 180 before coming up to full speed which is pointless. An option to turn that off would be awesome.

Seems like Dice just like to change it for everyone of their games as they clearly dont understand good stick handling.

just started playing this again.

But for some reason i started at the beginning (ie no unlocks). I'm sure i got to corporal or sergeant the last time.

As i was playing though suddenly my unlocks were there (after about an hour) so i thought must be lag on ea's side then?

But when i quit and went back on the next day i was once again back with no unlocks or anything

So it was a bit annoying playing as a medic with no medi packs defib or anything....

Apart from that is there a sniper rifle which is 1hit kill? Kept getting killed by this sniper once when i was in mid-air....

If you come from a game like MW2 or BOPs then it will feel slow. If you go the other way and go from BFBC2 to BOPS it feels like everyone is on speed.

Personally I prefer it as a game over all. BOPS and MW2 seem more of a solo game even if you are in a team. But BFBC2 is definity a team game involving tactics. Can be frustrating at times if you get pinned back but it is fun getting out of those positions.

Not played the vietnam yet but will get around to purchasing it eventually.

In regard to the stats thing resetting that always did that. Normally just means that you play a game and when your score comes up at the end it normally brings all your unlocks back. Never lasted more than one game in my experience.

Yeah I just bought a copy of this again. COD BO is great when your on your own but having a couple of mates on the battle field is awesome.

Really looking forward to playing this game again.

I've been playing Vietnam, there are some great new levels, some have ridiculous choke points but only a few. I haven't played BC2 for a while so haven't notice any sensitivity issues.

One thing I have noticed is that they have upped the close range sniper damage. You can now get 1 hit chest kills, so can move in a lot closer as a sniper and still be effective.

Not sure if it's me not playing for a while, but the bullet drop seems to be less as well, I keep on firing over peoples heads.

Shotguns don't seem to be able to get stupidly long distance kills anymore, but they are sill overpowered.

Helicopters can get shot down with any weapon now which is good, although they could give them a bit more health to compensate.

Worth the money IMO.
