*** Official Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Thread ***

God damn it, just taking a break from Heavy Rain and I get server problems. Serves me right for getting it on the 360. :D

Nah actually the 360 version has had less problems. The PS3 has had a lot of issues apparently. It was lucky sony fixed the time bug before BFBC2 launch, then the EA servers started playing up for PC and PS3 owners. Last but not least the 360 owners have been having a bit of trouble.

No one has got away with it :( Thanks to the quality service EA provide :o

Love this game, i play Recon or Medic and get about 2000+ a round and come first most of the time. :) Need about 5 Achievements to collect.

Not played it online yet so I've not encountered any of the server issues but hopefully I'll be on today! If you see me on it send me an invite and I'll squad up if on MP!

Had a crack at the MP earlier today and it was great! Got my behind handed to me on a plate to start with as I was just running into the combat without any care for cover fire etc. I've found it's best to play the game witha bit of caution and try and clear areas before you go running it to it!

I think they need to do some balancing tweaks to this game, it's already showing. Every time I play attacking... yes... ATTACKING, half of my team are bloody sniping making it impossible to win the game. It's also frustrating when you are trying to defend and the attacking team are sitting behind a rock somewhere in the map sniping you and raining down artillary like a noob. I thought the artillary strike was supposed to be in the support kit? Would have made more sense. The way it is laid out just encourages all the wanabee sniper pro's to just sit and camp the whole game :o.

Started playing the "Rush" mode last night and that was awesome. Scored thousands each round, compared to the hundreds I scored each round of "Conquest".

My only criticism, so far, is I was expecting more airbourne stuff. This may be because the only games I have played are 1943 and the original BF on PC.

I think they cut them out because they have to make it all work on the consoles and I don't think they can handle super fast planes flying around too? Also, I think planes would take away from the ground combat experience, because as we all know planes own everything so it would get a bit annoying, much like it did in BF2, as much as I loved to fly the plans in BF2, BF1942, Vietnam, etc.

It's because 90% of plane combat involves crashing them into the ocean 5 seconds after take-off. Why dilute the experience?

It's bad enough that people on my team ride off in the jeeps without waiting for anyone just to get to the copters before everyone else - only to crash them into the sea every single time.

quick question how do I use a parachute in this game? Keep committing suicide when I try jumping out of an helicopter

PS3 version btw

While I agree with you in principal, do you not just find it the most fun ever to sneak around behind them and knife them? :D

Only other Battlefield game I've played is 1943, which had it's fair share of people who didn't do anything to cap the flags. But I agree, I've noticed so far that it seems to be a lot worse with this.

In a number of the games I played yesterday when on an attacking team, I found a lot were just hiding somewhere sniping. Some even sat as far back as in the starting base doing it.

Now, when playing Defence, I see no problem with people spending the whole time sniping. Yes, I agree there seem to be a lot of people who have found spots where they can hide behind rocks and pick you off, but they are defending the bases. The issue I have is when you are on the same team as somebody who is sniping to defend and when a base has been armed, even though they are close enough to go and try and defuse it, they still sit there waiting to snipe someone!

Though I've not used it yet, the artillery strike you get as a sniper seems to be one of the most powerful/useful perks going. So I guess that is why all these people are just sat about so they can use that.

When I can yes... but sometimes it is impossible to tell where they shot you from, and other times they often hide behind the opposing front line so that you can't get to them anyway.

ASLO! I forgot to ask! How the heck to you open your parachute! I keep dying attempting to jump out of a heli button bashing all the buttons failing to open it and dying lmao.

EXACTLY. I have sat and watched my own team sniping in defense totally ignoring the bomb sites and just wanting to rack up kills, which ruins the game for everyone else.

The best thing they can do is limit how many people on each team can be snipers, and also tweak the perk system so that it encourages you not to be a sniper noob. I don't mind if they are going to really help the team by spotting and sniping. Sometimes they shoot all the wrong people, for instance I kept getting shot by a person on a stationairy turret and for some reason my entire team of snipers didn't see it logical to shoot him... when he is sat still... killing off the whole team... BUT HEY! :p

Its the A button to open your chute.

And I'll echo what people have said here, recon class is overpowered. Far too many on a side. Really should be a limit on how many per team.

There is no incentive to actually win either, as you can get thousands of points even on the losing side. There really needs to be a multiplier for the winning teams score too

Doesn't everyone complain about snipers in every game though :p

Personally think its damn good, annoyed at last night as had a mate over for an all night session and the servers were down!

Luckily, strike days monday and tuesday so tonight will start racking up the points. Snipers can get annoying admittedly but considering almost every building is destructable it does help a lot to stop them. But at the end of the day if someone wants to sit back in base an snipe as an attacker then they're going to. I have yet to find a game that can stop this.

As I said, in every FPS people complain about snipers. There is nothing you can do apart from playing with friends.
